nitroxsteve
I am looking for a 231 t-case are the ones connected to a auto the same as the ones on a 5speed?
flint54
Looking at my Jeep Parts Catalog, it appears the answer is yes. Assuming you're talking about a six cylinder, the part numbers I see (for manual and for and auto, for XJ and MJ) are as follows: Up to 2-19-91: 5300-8209 After 2-19-91: 5209-7522 (this one is also on 5 speed ZJ) Happy hunting! Geonovast
Pukey BA 10/5 and earlier AW-4 used a 21 spline input on the T-case. AX-15 and later AW-4 used a 23 spine input.
JeepcoMJ
Pukey BA 10/5 and earlier AW-4 used a 21 spline input on the T-case. AX-15 and later AW-4 used a 23 spine input. to elaborate. 87-90 will be 21 spline. mid 89 you *may* have a 23 spline, but ONLY if you have an Ax15 manual trans. 91 and newer are 23 spline....unless it's a 4 cylinder, in which case, it's still a 21 spline.
