arrows with brakes?

if youve read the pub section youll see i just got a guage cluster out of a 89 xj..i put it in and all the guages work fine..tach, speedo, etc. but when i push the brakes both arrows come on..not blinking...just stay on for as long as iam on the brake haha.. idk why they do that is there a wire different on the 89 then my 88 ?

you have a ground off somewere.

yea some wire is crossed somewhere. seems like those bulbs are connected to your brake wire somewhere along the way now rather then just the turn signal wires.

yes, it's a ground problem.

When checking don't just check the rears, amzingly enough it was my ground off of the front turn signals that cause mine to do that.

don't ask me how, but electricity does odd things in the rats nest of old wires we've got.
