ComancheKid45
Alright so I am currently working on a D35 to swap in my 89 MJ and have come to a bit of a confusion.... The rear hard lines on the axle will need replace as the fittings were rusted tight, no biggie however when the axle was removed the brake line was just cut on the rubber line. Now that ive began looking over everything i believe that rubber line and "block" are acctually part of the axle assembly :hmm: here's a pic of what I'm talking about, basically I'm just looking for an idea about working around this or what excatly to do about it when i goto put the new brakes lines on and swap this axle in... Thanks for any help. The rubber hose end that was cut is also in the pic.
mvusse
That fitting on top is the axle breather tube. It is screwed into the axle and acts as a bolt holding the distribution block on the axle. You need to unbolt it; hence the hex collar.

mvusse
There should be a rubber hose going from the breather fitting up into the frame rail to keep water from running into the axle through it when submerged. Is that the rubber hose you are referring to as being cut?
ComancheKid45
No, I removed the vent hose prior to snapping the picture, the hose that was cut was the brake line, I was just confused on how 2 replace it prior to knowing that peice was indeed removable ;)
