jbilly
Hi guys, There are wires, vacuum lines, and hoses connecting to nothing! This has been like this for a while and when I bought the truck a few weeks ago. The truck could be running better and I think finding out where these are supposed to go can do nothing but help! I'm providing pictures below to see if you can help identify what these are and where they should go. Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. If you would like to see some more pictures of other things that could possibly help you decipher the problem just let me know and I'll post them up as soon as I can. jimoshel
What year, engine? From the pics I would guess a '84-'86 2.5. The first pic looks like the oil pres sender. Red black I don't know. The others look like heater control valve lines.

jimoshel
Don't have a 90 but I do have a 89, close. That first wire IS for the oil sender. However it looks like it was removed and a mechanical gauge installed. The plastic hose going over the valve cover. In the last pic the red wire looks like after market, not factory original. Could be anything. After market gauge, direct hook up for stereo, trailer connect, etc.. Just trace it out. The others still look like heater valve control lines. jimoshel
That black vacum line looks like it might be for cruise control but a CC isn't showing in pics. Ist possible it had cruise but it's been removed?
gl1200aman
I compared the pictures to my 88 and found these results: 1st appears to be for the oil pressure sending unit. 2nd In that area the only connector like that with those color wires connect to the heater blower fan and come from the larger harness by the battery. 3rd & 4th Go to the cruise servo thingy. If you look on the firewall to the right of the coolant bottle you will see the three holes that were used to mount it.

TrailReadyMJ
Is the wire in the 2nd pic attached to the hood? If so it's for a pull out under hood light. These break often, due to the mechanism breaking in the retractable light. Cool idea, bad design.
