xj_dummy Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I replaced the fuel filter on my 1986 2.5 Comanche, when it felt like its starving for fuel. But it still acts the same. Under idle and on the gas, it lopes? What would be the cause of it. Thanks.
xj_dummy Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 Failing fuel pumpclogged injectors :dunno: Where would I find my fuel pump?
ComancheKrazy Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Fuel pump is in your gas tank. Come to think of it, I've never taken out the fuel pump in my jeep lol....have done it plenty in these dang ford escorts. You should have somebody help you that knows some stuff about it.
xj_dummy Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 Thank you for the info. Or the lack of it. :wall:
jimoshel Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Suggest You buy, borrow or rent a pressure tester and check your actual fuel pressure ( at the test port on the fuel rail ) before you go buying, replacing new fuel pumps. If it is low might just be a dirty strainer , in the gas tank, and not a bad pump.
