Stumpy Posted October 21, 2006 Share Posted October 21, 2006 i have buddy that can get a 4.0L head and manifold for like $50 and its from a 2002. the queston i have is would it be the same as a 97? also would either manifold work on my MJ? thanks for any info!!! jeepthing07 Posted October 21, 2006 Share Posted October 21, 2006 The later '99 & up 4.0 heads have been known to crack and have smaller ports but the intake alone is worth $50 guys like the later intakes because they make a little more HP. The best 4.0 head is casting number 957120 used from 1991-1995. EDIT: found the link... http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/tech_specs.html 2000-01 uses the 0331 casting (the one thats known to crack) 1996-99 uses the 0630 casting I would be a little suspesious of someone selling a 2000+ head unless its from a wrecked jeep its probably cracked but the intake would be worth it.
