Ridgerunner
I have a question are the MJ leaf the same lenth as the XJ leafs. I was thinking about if I could just bolt a XJ rear axles and spring into a MJ
Geonovast
Nope, MJ leafs are considerably longer. Also, XJ leafs are farther apart than the MJ. Perch location is not the same between XJ and MJ axles. Why would you want XJ leafs? If you're looking to do SOA, there's no difference in the leaf itself. What exactly are your plans? CWLONGSHOT
NO they are not.. XJ is about 52" while the MJ is closer to 58". CW
Ridgerunner
I am puting a XJ rear d35 in my MJ Project. and of course the XJ is spring over and th MJ is Spring under. so I was looking at a easy way if it would fit. It is really no big deal to weld new spring perches on. I just did not want to if I did not have to, and of course I am sitting here at work and I can't go measure it. So I posted here :)
Geonovast
I've seen an MJ with an XJ axle bolted on spring over without relocating the perches. It was not pretty. It bends the springs out, and you're likely to break something rather quickly. You'll need to burn on new perches. Just use your existing MJ axle. You can even burn the new perches on without removing the old ones.
