I want the ABS to work because it has it. I can't stand to have disconected non working features. Also since this is a DD and not going to be Wheeled It needs to have good road manners and the ABS is nice to have since we get alot of Black Ice and slippery frosen stuf here. I suppose. ABS has done nothing but screw me over...I don't like having it, but then again, I prefer full function rear brakes, too (no proportioning). I used to think that way also. -

Well it has been a while since I was able to work on this, but now I have the time. My goal is to have it drving by Jan 1st (2011?) I wanted a rear axle that was a bit Stonger than the D35. Since I was going to have redo Spring mounts anyways I might as well upgrade th axle. Spent yesterday at the Pick & Pull Wrecking yard and Brought home a nice 98 Ford 8.8 with disc brake and 3.55 gears and ABS for ~$100. they had a 50% off sale :jump: I will need to work out some sort of conversion Circuit to get the correct number of pulses from the ABS sensor on the axle to the ABS on the jeep. My camera is Broken I hope to get it fixed and I will post some pics. -

xj rear leaf vs Mj rear leafs
Ridgerunner replied to Ridgerunner's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I am puting a XJ rear d35 in my MJ Project. and of course the XJ is spring over and th MJ is Spring under. so I was looking at a easy way if it would fit. It is really no big deal to weld new spring perches on. I just did not want to if I did not have to, and of course I am sitting here at work and I can't go measure it. So I posted here :) -
I have a question are the MJ leaf the same lenth as the XJ leafs. I was thinking about if I could just bolt a XJ rear axles and spring into a MJ

Well I went and pick up my Parts Jeep that will supply me most of the parts I need to build my MJ. The Cherokee is a 98 limited with leather and power driver seat, Cruise, ABS NP242 2wd,4wd-h, 4wd Full time and 4lo. It has a HP D30 in the front and a D35 in the rear. the prevouse owner had all of the maintenence done at the dealer and with 140k on it the engine look and runs like a 50k motor . So I got a few thing to finish on some other projects and then I am going to get working on it again Pictures. GAve the J10 a work out Image Not Found -

I was wondering if a 23 gallon fuel tank from a truck with a long bed would fit in a truck with a Short bed I found these tanks new http://www.quantaproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=JP-4B

I suggest a picture section for just member trucks separate from build thread

I also Scored a Very nice bed and tail gate from a truck At LKQ (Pick and pull yard). It has a few minor dings on the out side but the inside of the bed is near perfect. -
Hello Since this is my first post here I figured I would introduce myself and Start My Build thread Carl Rasmussen Fuquay Varina NC I just picked this MJ up last week off of Craigslist for $100 I got this 89 MJ and I am going to transplant everything over from a 98-01 XJ. My plan is to make this look totaly Stock Just like it rolled off the assembly line in 2001 I currently have my eye on a 01 XJ for the donor. The MJ has a good frame and Cab and that is about it. I will start Gutting it out this week in preperation for the newer parts. Here are pics of it when I got it home.
