gas tank o ring

i took apart my gas tank and sending unit and then but it back together but the o ring is too big to go back on how do i fix it.

How did it change size?? I mean, it cannot just change??? Are you sure your looking at it correctly?

IMHO the fuel pump o-ring should always be replaced when changing the fuel pump. They are only around $4.00 at the dealer (p/ 5300 0575), same o-ring the XJ uses. Cheap insurance against a leak. :cheers:

Yep. The O-ring should never be reused.

its a brand new o ring i just bought a new tank about two months ago and i took the sending unit out cause my fuel gauge was off and the o ring keeps expanding so i have extras and put one in the fridge and will put it on tomorrow or tuesday
