crazyjim
Tell me if this sounds right to you guys, getting ready to pull the trigger on some shocks. Front is 5.5 RE springs with relocated lower shock mounts to LCA brackets, and BPE's up top. Rear is a SOA with .5" TNT u-bolt eliminators and warrior products shock mounts. I'm looking at picking up a set of 12" short body bilstein 7100's for the front and rear both, too long for the rear? Thanks (BTW, I'm Jim, and I'm new here :D)
89eliminator
i think they might be a tad long. I'm running 11" strokes with about the same lift and the same mounts as you and i have about 5" up travel. (yes the tire would eat the fender before i extended the bumps.) what leaf packs are they, 4wd or 2wd? btw, if I'm correct in who you are, sick "go fast" XJ.
crazyjim
Haha thanks, and yea I'm probably the same guy you're thinking of ;) Are your lower mounts up front in the stock location? Or did you re-weld new tabs on the LCA brackets? I'm thinking a 12" short body would still give me quite a bit of up travel, I'm just not sure on the rears. As for the springs they're 2wd springs. That's a shot of the front lower mounts. Rear I don't have a picture of oddly enough, but they look exactly like this: Thinking maybe a 10" short body in the rear and a 12" up front? Thanks for the help guys...
89eliminator
I'm running 12" stroke 5150s with the stock lower bar pin in the stock location and homemade adapters on top. i don't remember off hand but for some reason 4 1/2" up seems right. so yeah since the lower mount is lower, you should have sufficient uptravel. i have the exact same mounts for the rear (considering that is my picture lol). if it were me, i'd run the 12" strokes up front and 10" out back. here is an idea full flex full bump (zero rubbing)
cracker
This place is going down hill for sure. With Jim and I, you guys may choose to ban us. BTW, 12" SB 7100s will be fine in the frontbut the rear will be a little long I bet. And that thing flexes WAY better than I thought it would with stock leaves.
