seebold Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Well i took everybodys advise and decided to upgrade  I think it is a wise idea here's a pic of my old Dana35...... and the xj 8.25
seebold Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 I am amazed how much moor beefy'er the 8.25 is compared to the dana35
jpnjim Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 The only thing I don't like about the 8.25 is the leading bottom edge grabs everything. When I was wheeling both the MJ & XJ, the MJ would glide over more stuff with a low hanging D60 & 33's, than the XJ would with the 8.25" & 32's.
comanche09 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Sweet Got any tips on how to remove the spring perches and shock mounts? I'm afraid of cutting into the axle tube. I see and angle grinder in the pic. Thanks!
seebold Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 I just took it slow with the grinder. just cut thru the weld on one side, and use a hammer and chisle and the other weld will break. It's not as bad as you think.
