D44 gear ratio

I just bought a 1990 4.0l MJ auto. 4x4 long bed for parts.

 

I want to swap the D44 to my truck.

 

My truck is a MJ 1989 4.0l AX-15, short bed.

 

Could somebody tell me if auto and manual have different differentiel gear ratio?

the 4.0 rules of thumb:

 

4.0 + auto = 3.55

 

4.0 + stick = 3.07

Any suggestion where to buy the right gearing ?

Because my truck is a 4x4.

 

Front gearing = Rear gearing.

 

Should I have to swap both axles ?

yes, you'll need to swap both axles.

Can I use my actual Drive Shaft ?

No lift, my truck is Stock.

 

Maybe 3"lift in the futur.

If you wait til the lift, it'll be perfect. Might be pretty tight since the 44 has a 1" longer snout on it.
