i just swap a 4cylinder 2wd to a 6cylinder 4wd from a 94 cherokee and i need to know how to do the fuel pump, do you just swap them or do you have to change the parts on one

What? Swapped from what into what? Year, model, etc. for both.

1989 comanche 2.5l 4 cylinder 2wd

to a 1994 cherokee 4.0l HO 4wd

and i swap everything except the fuel pump, i tried today but the one from the cherokee did fit in the comanche it was block by something i think

put the cherokee pump onto the mj sender and stick it back in the tank.

XJ fuel sending units will not swap into an MJ and vice-versa. They are kind of like mirror images of each other, and the blockage you are experiencing is the fuel tank baffle plate.
