jbhill
anyone done this to an xj or mj cluster? i took my cluster apart today and got the idea to run auto meter gauges in it behind the factory plastic cover n such. I'm just curious if anyone else had this idea.

Hot Rod Jeep
That's an idea I've had too, but I've already got my gauges and they're 2 5/8" so they're prolly too big. 8)
87manche
could always make a pice of sheet aluminum to fit in the stock cluster opening, then you could arrange the guages however you wanted. I'd really rather have my tach on the right for instance, and have my water temp and oil pressure on the same side.
pingpong
Those gauges just let you know bad things are about to happen  Only gauage I need is a gas gauge :brows:

Oizarod115
why not just do white faced gauges? or are you looking for more accurate ones?
feerocknok
Those gauges just let you know bad things are about to happen  Only gauage I need is a gas gauge :brows: Only gauge my Yota has is a speedo. I just fill it up every few days with gas. As for the MJ: Image Not Found Oooooh, yeah, full cluster. Are the Autometer ones small enough to fit? jbhill
why not just do white faced gauges? or are you looking for more accurate ones? not running any factory wiring so i don't wana try to get em to work right w/ a GM motor and painless harness. plus theyll be more accurate. and cooler lookin :D some small 3 in gagues should fit for hte speedo and tach. some 1 7/8 for the other 4 tho.
