oldrusty Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I have a recently rebuilt 727 auto in my 68 satelitte that is giving me problems. On my initial test drive the trans would shift from first to second but refused to shift into drive until I got it up to about 50 mph or so. I went home and adjusted the kickdown as short as I could make it and everything seemed ok. Took the car for another ride today and all was good until I stopped at the local NAPA for abou ten minutes. Left there to go hame and I'm back to not wanting to shift from 2nd to 3rd. Any ideas?

aemsee Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Make sure that your linkage is properly adjusted and you are truely in drive and not manual second. If that is OK you may have a valve body or govener pressure problem.
