brdhntr
today and tonight i helped by sending buses with volunteers back and forth. tomorrow i will be site manager at a sandbagging site. cool thing is i'll be useing the mj as the "base" so the mj will be front and center of the flood fight. i'll have to get some pic's if i get a chance. it's not a priority since i don't know when i'll get home tonight and tomorrow. mj's already full of the paperwork i need and salvation army water bottles and treats. it's gona be a long day, but working out of the jeep will be great. it'll be the most time i've spent with it.

brdhntr
thanks for the good words guys. i try to help however i can. it's rewarding knowing i'm part of something like that. this weekend everything is going to be on hold for easter. i'll go out if they need me but they are really letting everyone relax a bit this weekend. the firefighters have just announced they are going to close up their flood operations for the weekend in a few minutes. good for them, they deserve a rest. things will start back up on monday and go strong next week. it sounds like the bad part is going to hit the end of next week. where i was today it was sad. there were many houses that were lost in the area. i really felt for a very young couple that just bought their first house last fall and now have had to abandon it. they will have to gut it and do alot of work before they can live in it again. they're probably 24-25 years old. just sad. so the jeep got good and muddy so far today. it's blocked traffic and been parked in areas no other vehicle is allowed. i'm using the hood as an office and command center, it's pretty cool. i forgot my camera though. it will be back out next week so i'll take pic's then. i need some for my scrapbook, right. this has to be documented. i got alot of people stopping and talking to me about it. 1 guy said he's wanted one since they came out but has never found one when he has the money. him and his son have 3 xj's they've built up so we chatted a bit. another guy thought it was a pretty cool city vehicle. i quickly corrected him that it's my personal rig. it should get credit for what it's doing, right. ;) i'll post latter when i get home if i have a chance. i'm not sure when that will be.
