robfg67 Posted March 29, 2009 Share Posted March 29, 2009 The driver’s side axle seal spit the bit recently and needs to be replaced. I found this write-up and have a couple questions. 1. What size ring spanner wrench is required (for the crown wheel bolt on the differential)? 2. Does the ring spanner wrench need to be offset? Thanks fellas! BLHTAZ Posted March 29, 2009 Share Posted March 29, 2009 Actually...I have never used a wrench on the ring gear bolts like that. I have never had a problem with just removing the bearing caps and then putting a pry bar under the carrier...with just a bump or two, the carrier comes out. As he stated in that write up though...be sure you make note of the bearing caps so that they go back on the correct sides and with the same ends top & bottom.
