brdhntr
i came out from the sportsman's show i was working for our dog club to find a flat left front tire. glad i carry a floor jack and a spare in the bed. 10 minutes and i was on my way. now i have to find the hole to plug it. i work the show again tomorrow. guess it'll have to wait until monday. i have to beat the storm by tuesday. otherwise i'll just drive the suburban and wait for the snow to melt in a month or so.

jeepcoma
I got a flat tire last Sunday too. I was up in Boston helping my brother move, so naturally I emptied all my tools from the bed to have as much room as possible. On my way out to the highway I NAILED a pothole, I was looking over my shoulder to merge with traffic so I didn't even see it. Plus it was night, and the snow storm was just starting. Sure enough not a minute later had a bad vibe, fortunately I was able to pull off the road just 10 feet before the highway on ramp and into a shopping center parking lot right off I-93. I left my bro's apartment around 7 PM and didn't get back home until almost 2 AM. Bummer.
MiNi Beast
That's how it works, been a few times I unloaded tools for room for a quick drive some where and sure enough something happens and I have no tools to fix anything. I hate that. :fs1:
jeepcoma
Yeah... normally I carry an entire workshop back there complete with lots of tools, air compressor, two tires, and several big hammers and prying instruments. That way if I see someone on the side of the road I've got everything I need. Not the time I needed it though!
brdhntr
yep. i carry plenty of stuff in both my trucks. you never know. when it does happen, i'm thankful for it. i just pointed it out because it sucked to come out from working the sportsman's show for the dog club, with my dog, at 9:30 at night, to find a flat. it just sucked. :dunno:
Jerry
Just for reference to anyone interested......... These kits are great, see link below. I use them on the bike. I carry a mini compressor instead of the CO2 canisters though. They are alot quicker than removing the holed wheel and putting on the spare! Last the life of the tyre too. But only good for repairing nail type holes less than 1/4". http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stop-Go-Pocket-Tyre-Plugger-Kit-CO2-Inflation-System_W0QQitemZ130280974947QQihZ003QQcategoryZ30928QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262#ebayphotohosting I'm sure you can get something similar to the link above without paying UK prices. The kit I have came with fifty plugs and I've already used two of them. Find hole, remove nail/bolt/etc, use rasp tool, insert plug, reinflate

But I carry a SafetySeal truck kit for my MJ due to the thick blocks on the ProComps. Haven't had to use it yet (fingers crossed) but I'm heading to Baja on Thursday for the San Felipe 250, so who knows?
