pingpong
how much lift will a SOA give you using stock springs and the stock perches? it depends on a couple of things 1. how good are the leaves you are using 2. how tall is the perch you will be using Normally between 5-6" can be xpected, more if you swap in a biggger tube axleI have done the SOA swap now 3 different times, and everytime, I have gotten roughly the same amount of lift, except I got a 1/2 more when I did the 8.

Just an FYI, There website says some mods required if you havs a D44 (one of them being welding the perches on the axle). If you have a D44, don't bother with this kit. It would be much cheaper and less work to just weld on new perches.
pingpong
For the most part any SOA kit is just about setting the pinion angle, and welding the perches in place. The bolt on kits do have their place, it is just a travesty of justice for ppl to charge that kinda money for longer u-bolts and a different spring plate. I really wonder if under a hard load if that axle wouldnt kick out the spring perch. If anyone has this.. please chie in. Last time I checked.. spring perches were available from Mr.Gasket for less the 20 bucks, and even high quality u-bolts. Then if you paid a shop to weld your perches on.. I still think you would come in cheaper then that price
BIGHEEP
This is the Rocky Road kit installed. They do not use U bolts at all but instead grade 8 bolts. As for kicking out you can see in the pic the new upper perch locks into the lower perch soit isn't going anywhere. That is the problem I found with the D44. Not only is the axle tube bigger but the perches are solid steel (unlike the D35 stamped perches) sothe new upper perch would have to be shortened and there is no way for it to lock in to the lower perch. JasonBaehm
how much lift will a SOA give you using stock springs and the stock perches? well after i did ford 8.8 swap, and used slightly different shackles my truck rides about perfect for the 5inch coils in the front, it has a little rake to it which sits about level when i get spare tire, camping stuff, and extra parts in the back, oh and my topper.
