Geonovast
I have a set of clutchpacks for a D35 Trac-lok, practically brand new. I know I'd need the carrier and spiders for a C-clip trak-lok. What I'm wondering, though, is if I get ahold of the carrier to swap in there, would a whole new gear setup have to be done, or are the carriers machined well enough for me to simply swap the ring and its shims over? If a setup is needed I won't bother, but it'd be a nice addition to my 4wd until I get around to the 4.10 8.25 swap.
aemsee
You would need to do a set up for the ring gear back lash. Pinion depth wouldn't change.

Pinion depth wouldn't change. While that is likely true, I would not trust it personally. I have never changed a carrier without doing a complete new set up with new pinion bearings, pinion seal, pinion nut (crush sleeve if applicable) & carrier bearings. In the case of replacing a carrier, I would even replace the ring & pinion gears to avoid the chance of them being noisy when re-used, but again, that is my personal preference.
