low-range issues

i have an ax4 trans and np231 t-case. whenever i am in 4wd-low and i put the transmission into reverse the trans grinds and pops out of gear. :???: reverse works good in high range, 2wd or 4wd. and the all the forward gears work good in 4-lo.

 

anyone else had this problem?

try adjusting the t-case linkage. sounds like its popping out of gear when its in reverse.

If that is the issue, here is the ajustment procedure:

Soak that linkage rod with PB blaster a couple times before you try to tackle the adjustment procedure. Let it soak for a day or so in between each application. When I tried to adjust mine it would not move freely as the procedure calls for. Turned out to be a big pain.
