JeepcoMJ Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 what shims do you speak of sir? i thought you could olny align the toe LCA body side brackets. there are two bolts on the back of the bracket itself. if you put the frame up on jacks, loosen those two bolts, then loosen the main LCA body-side bolt, you can add or remove shims from that location. there's a small bracket inside which slides around.
project88mj Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 wait ..... some times i get caster and camber confused the alignment guy said the the angle the the tire was off bye was the angle on the top of the tire where it leans towards or away from the spring, shock, motor or what ever
mvusse Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 I get camber and caster confused too, but IIRC, that is camber. And camber is not adjustable. caster is adjustable by shimming the LCA brackets and toe in is adjustable in the tie rod. Again, I may have the terms caster and camber reversed.

You are correct, you do not have them backwards. Caster IS adjustable Camber is not. (Easilly) adjustable. You CAN install adj Ball joints to adjust CAMBER. Here is an example of CAMBER: Here is one of CASTER; CW
project88mj Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 thanks i got 1 degree negative CAMBER on my jeep thats not a lot is it?
Jacobs Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 1 degree- it's a bit much, I see -.7 and .8 all the time though. Probably a typical tweaked D30 housing. You'll need to keep up on rotation to keep the tires from wearing unless you pony up for camber adjustment.
project88mj Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 can they get that done on a 2wd rront axle
