Help to identify my front axle

Hi. I have a D30 front axle in my 88 MJ. There is a tag bolted with the number 8953000394 and there is a code in the axle cover 4 10 610321-3

Can any one tell me the meaning of this? Do these codes help?

Well, unless someone has swapped it out, ALL mj's came with a HI-Pinion D30, so that should be what you have. PICS would help....

Going by he numbers, it also looks like its got 4:10 gears...was it a 4cyl by chance???

it is more then likely a 4.10 gewar ratio. the other numbers more then likely are parts and build info on the axle.
