89MJComanche
I was wondering?? What is a 1986 2.5L MJ worth?? There are 2 of them for sale locally that are in very very good condition. 1 is a 2wd LB (all 1986's are long beds right?). It is in real good shape, good bed (no rust), good floors (no rust) and the interior is soso. 92,000 miles. The other is a 4wd Long Bed (red truck that was like the spec units) that has been sitting for about 2 years. The guy that owns it won't take less than $1000 for it. Really, the sheet metal on this truck is perfect. No rust, Excellent condition rear bumper, black vynl interior, 4 Speed Tranny, and it is supposed to have a rebuilt 2.5 in it that was replaced by the previous owner. What are these two MJ's worth?? I have been looking, and it looks like it is going to cost 3 grand to get a decent MJ now. 88 and newer 4x4's that have good bodys and are close to origional as in not all modded up and haked up and $#!& have become very very very hard to find. Eagle
Yes, all 86's are LWB. About a year ago I paid $100 for a decent running, very solid but rough paint 2.5L 2WD. A 4WD is worth a bit more, but IMHO $1000 for a truck that has been sitting for two years and therefore will need all new hoses, belts, wheel cylinders, calipers, and possibly axle seals and rear main seal -- is rather a stretch. Heck, after sitting for two years even the tires are suspect.
Wildman
89MJ - Is that a $1,000 for both MJ's If the body is in perfect shape, I would think it's worth it. I just offered a owner $300 for a 86 w/ 2.8, 4 speed, 4wd, wating to hear from him, but the body is shot, and the whole truck is rought, and sitting for 3 years. Re-man 2.8, but not running now. Eagle is rignt :smart: I just did over a 89 thats been sitting and with a rought body, did the floor boards, all axle seals, bearings, Front, break lines, calpers, wheel cyls, and next is the body and paint, and I paid $500 for the stock MJ (4.0, BA-15, swb, 4wd, 81,000) Belt and hoses were ok. So, for both, good deal, or just for the one, 4wd, with a good body, yea. Watch what is selling on e-bay, and if it's local for you, No shipping.
