Comanche A/C

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how difficult it is to convert my mj to factory style air conditioning. I know the mechanical part of it is adding the parts required for the system. I'm concerneed about the electrical and switch panel in the dash. Will a a/c factory dash selector just plug in? Is the wiring already there just not being used? Help?? I live in vegas..

Never done it but get a doner vehicle and work slow. don't forget the vacume hoses and reservoir. Another source for electrical is Painless Wiring. Go to a street rod show or site and ask around or look up after market AC kits. Warning AC system must be pumped out before disassembly.

I'm presently working on putting something together. However, I'm in school full time, so things are going really slow. I have a doner from the same year, so things have been pretty straight forward so far. Beside the mechanical stuff, I took the harness from the fuse box all the way around the front back to the firewall. (You won't need the headlight harness)The harness plugs right into what is already there. You will need the relay, and the plug from the donor. I have the harness from the controls to the thermostat(under the dash). I believe it also connects to the existing wiring. but I haven't yet taken the dash in my truck apart, so I can't be sure. I will have pictures, and a write up as soon as I can. That's as far as I have gotten so far. I hope that helps a little. If there is any other info that I'm missing, please let me know.
