Hoodlouvers & Throttle bodies

Issen an ad for hood louvers in the JP mag and like them. As I said earlier my 89 MJ is primered and ready for paint (colorado red). I already have the holes cut in the same place I have seen many other these years. I was wondeing if rain is an issue with these? Are they more trouble than they or worth or are they as good as they say? Also I noticed that rusty's have a throttle body spacer for 89 MJ are they any good as well? Thanks

I don't know about the hood louvers, but the t-body spacer is not worth the money.

As for hood vents, I run LeBaron hood vents in my XJ and MJ with great results.

Do they make any cold air intake for an 89 mj? If not what are some performance mods that are not too extreme that will give me more hp and not kill me at the pump? My mj will not see any major trails or mud, maybe a walk through the woods nothing major. Thanks

yes they do at your local hardware store

 

look for the PVC section buy the bends and some rubber conecters

 

then go to autozone buy a cone air filter stick it on the end.

no i called my local jeep guroo and he said that they made one for the 94 modles ?

Performance upgrades & improved MPG are not synonymous. Some performance upgrades can help with MPG, but it's not likely. There are cold air intakes made for the 4.0L, but finding one for the Renix can be a little tough.
