  1. But I am getting power back up to the switch because I get dash lights also when I power the circuit through the trailer plug. I don't have a schematic but am guessing maybe a wire problem coming out of the fuse block.
  2. Lost my tail lights on my '88. Fuse is good (Also try them with a new one), switch works (tried a new one here also), but no tail or dash lights. If I power them through the trailer plug all is well. Any ideas before I start looking later this week end?
  3. Bottle stoppers too! Another of my home brewed resins.
  4. Custom made? Yes, with a kit. A kit conists of the trans mission, tubes, clip with finial (capor end) and the nib (end where the ink cartride comes out) The casing has to be drilled to accept the tubes with some fitting work required. The antler is drilled and a tube glued in then turned on a lathe to the desired shape. I also use .308 casings which are a little shorter thus allowing for a longer antler (or what ever is being used) upper section. Here is a pic of one made from a little bit larger caliber casing!!! 50 cal.!!!!!:rock on: Yes, it is an actual working pen!!
  5. When I find the time, LOL!!!, I like to craft writing instruments (Dry Bonz Customs). Here is a recent one . . . All brass tubed 30-06, polished and powder coated clear. Satin copper "slimline" kit with white tail antler upper barrel. Hey, I lay no claim to being a photographer!!!!
  6. Sorry, I never noticed you are out east. The Grand Island I was thinking you are in is the one in Nebraska. Anyway, looking forward to your build!
  7. Sweet!!! Those bobbed XJ's look enticing! Hey Joel, I been meaning to ask ya, even though it is a long shot. Being your in Grand Island, do you by chance know an ol" jarhead by the name of Barry Hopkins? I served with him so he'd be in his late 40's.
  8. Somewhere along the line I probably have. I've been airbrushing for just about 25 years and have done hundreds of vehicles on shirts.
  9. Good job! I've tried painting with a brush on canvas on a few occasions but just didn't get anywhere with it. So I used an airbrush on t-shirts!!!
  10. An '88 with 196,000 on the clock. 4.0 I6 with a 5spd. Seriously considering converting it to 4wd unless I can find another one. Need to change the oil pump as it clatters a bit and pressure drops once operating temp has been reached. The worst of the body rot can be seen in the pic. For now just going to concentrate on the body work and lay down some slick paint and graphics.
  11. Again, thanks all. As I said, I am new to Jeeps with this being my first but I am in no way new to turning wrenches. I was a heavy equipment mechanic for 11 years and a transit bus technician for the last 10 with a 2 1/2 year stint as a full time airbrush artist in between. And all kinds of toys during that time. And my reply yo oldjeep about the left driveshaft was a joke, hence the italics and cheers emoticon!!!
  12. Thanks!!! What about the left one?!!!!!
  13. Please forgive my question of ignorance but just having gotten my first Jeep, a 1988 2wd, 4.0, 5spd. MJ, and have yet to yearn the differences between models. I have a chance to get a wrecked but driveable '95, 4.0, 5spd, 4wd XJ. Would I be able to swap out the parts to make my MJ 4wd??
  14. What about an activation email? If one was sent it apparently ended up in my junk box which gets dumped automatically. I've tried going through the lost password steps but am told my account is inactive.
  15. Is anyone here a member of the Northern Illinois Jeep Alliance board? I registered there shorty after signing up here but I haven't heard anything back from them yet.
  16. That place is expensive!!! I think both 4wd and Quadratec are both like half that price. Also, for fenders, OMIX-ADA is 99% definitely their supplier, meaning their products are made in the USA. 4wd and Quadratec?? Got any contact info? Right now I am more concerned with patch panels than I am whole panels.
  17. Weeeeeelllll, looks like I'm gonna have to break out the shot bag and e-wheel and fabricate my own. As for the fenders, check http://www.autopartswarehouse.com Whowey, any contact information? I don't live all that close to Addison!!! I see you live in the Illinois boonies. Where about? I am in a small sleepy farming community of about 450, in the middle of an east central Illinois cornfield!!
  18. I have an '88 Comanche. I have located a source for new fenders and hoods (albeit not USA made). My question is, is there a source for patch panels such as quarters and corners or am I left to fabricate them myself? Banging them out is no problem but simply easier to buy them.
  19. Shame I don't live closer, I'd fix it for ya!
  20. Just because a block is cracked or missing a chunk doesn't mean it is scrap. Since it isn't a load bearing surface which doesn't require machining what you have there is easily repaired. Simply prep it and braze a filler piece in place. I would use a piece of 1/4" steel with heavily beveled edges so as to provided a larger face area for the brazing to grab hold. This makes for a stronger repair especially since you are only able to get to one side.
