  1. Jeepcomj, Yeah, the fuse box was where I was having several different problems, I just bought the truck 3 weeks ago. Well, in tring to get the fog lights working, which i did. the other stuff went out. the fuse box, has a couple of bad looking places in it, like where you actually plug a fuse into it, it looks like it had gotten hot, or burnt. in 2 places, The reason I asked about that part up front, is cause the wires going into it, were'nt being used, so I rerouted them, the use them for my fog light's. the toggle switch'es on the dash werent even pluged in. and one had never been used( toggle for an automatic trans, mine IS a 5 sp.)heck, I'm having trouble even trying to explain this, guess tommorrow, I'll just have to dig into there a little deeper. But, for some reason, I was thinking that part up by the Batt. had something to do w/ it.?
  2. Str. 6, fuel injected, 2 wheel drive, 1989 Comanche
  3. Hi. I have a question, can anyone here post a picture of a 6 cylinder, 1989, Comanche. There's a part that I don't exactly know what it is, therefore, don't know what it does. Standing in front of the truck,as if you're checking the oil, the battery is to your left, engine is in the center, against the left "firewall" mounted to the firewall, looks like a relay, or flasher? If I had a picture to look at on here, I could see it, and explain to you where it is, so that you might be able to help me with my problem. I'm having wiring problem's, to make a long story less long........... I need to figure out if this part has anything to do with my windshield wipers, or blinkers. Cause me messing around with wire's, trying to get my fog light's working, somehow, now fog light's are fixed, but at the sacrifice of my blinker's, wiper's, horn, and cig. lighter [/b]
  4. OK .I'll have to do this, what you say, this weekend. It's just gonna take me fixing one little problem at a time, not that there really is a lot of problem's . I'm VERY happy with my Comanche. and working on it is not an agrivation, it's a hobbie, sort of. like the seats, and console. just cosmetic stuff. the only mech. problem, would be the steering , but I'll try doing what you said this weekend. and I will get back with you about that. \Again, thank you Sir. you've been more helpfull, in just that one reply, than I've gotten localy in the 3 weeks I've owned it. Talk to you later, and thanks again
  5. Hello, I'm new here, so I'll probaly be asking several dumb question's. like one for example: what does "MJ" and "XJ" stand for? Anyway, My steering box. Someone told me that it was in the "knuckle". I have ALOT of play in there, and they told me the U-joint or knuckle, was gone. also, i was reading this page earlier, and saw where someone's would'nt return to center after releasing the wheel, while in a curve. Mine, when I (if I) let go of the steering wheel, in a curve, my truck will just act as if I'm still steering it thru the curve, it will not return to center. I have wireing problems, seat questions, like, i would love to have a picture of an interior of a 1989 Jeep comanche. its a 6 cyl. 2 wheel drive, fuel inj. 5 speed. But, I can tell, that the console, and seat's, are NOT origional. There's bench seat's in there, but I want bucket! Beside's all that, i love working on it, just bought it, but to be honest, it's driving me a little wacky, can anyone please help?
