  1. Awesome I figured that's all there was to it, I just wanted to check. Thanks!
  2. Has anyone gone from the old, 88 or 89- to the new 90+ sun visors? I'm pretty sure I know the jest of converting I just wondered if anyone had done it before me. I think the 3 holes that support the visors to the outside are the same on all of them it's just the ones towards the inside that are further out on older ones. My 88 MJ has the long goofy ones with no mirrors, and they're nasty. Plus I figure I can easily get my hands on a set from a 1997+ that have adjustable lighted mirrors. I also want to put an OHC in this unit and that would be next to impossible with these long ones. I would typically just tear into this if it was an XJ that I was familiar with, but MJs have that thicker layer of metal where they mount so I'm not too sure on them. If anyone has done this please let me know. Thanks, Collin
  3. Awesome, hopefully there is on mine too. That does sound like the compressor clutch 12v to me. I wonder if the low pressure switch wires are there too. That'd be awesome if I didn't have to make new wires.
  4. Awwww I'm telling Remi you called him a redneck. Anyway I did it the same way on my XJ. You take the old striker out, enlarge the top hole on the new style striker and then run a bolt through the top hole. It's really easy and the new doors are pretty schweet. I don't think it's too redneck it's just the easiest way and the way that makes sense to me. HTH, Collin
  5. So that means what...going all the way back to fusebox on both of them?
  6. Hey guys, this is my first tech post on here, hopefully some of you guys have dealt with this same thing. My Comanche Pioneer doesn't have two things I want...AC and Cruise. I can easily get my hands on the combo AC/Heat controls, compressor, drier, lines, evaporator and condenser. I have already changed the heater core on my XJ so I know what pulling the heater box out entails...it's really not too bad and my MJs core is clogged anyway. What wiring will need to be added for AC though? Are partial harnesses there for the clutch 12v and such? Also for cruise...will there be a partial harness there? If anyone knows please fill me in. Thanks so much, Collin
  7. Yeah no kidding, I suppose you're right, it might not be quite worth it. 8)
  8. Maybe I need to come visit Canada at some point soon. 8)
  9. Thanks for the welcome guys. I've been digging around here some and can already tell this place is going to be a wealth of knowledge for me. girsmj86-Yeah I like the chrome grille/bezels on the XJ too. It used to have chrome bumpers too but I thought that was almost too much. It's a pretty sharp unit and I do love XJs but this MJ is a lot quicker and more fun to drive than the XJ. I suppose having 31"s with 3:55s and an AW4 doesn't help. Yeah this little guy does pretty good in the snow too, I haven't hit mud with it yet but for being as light in the ars end as it is, I've been impressed. As for the beer, if it's my preference this week, snatch up some Guinness for me please. I like my beer milkshake thick. Actually I'm only 18 so I don't drink.....much.
  10. Thanks bud, and thanks again for telling Dustin about this little truck, it is so awesome.
  11. Hey guys, my name's Collin, just got an 88 MJ. I'm new to ComancheClub and Comanches even but I've driven a Cherokee for the last 4 years so I'm used to everything but the box. I've also been a member of NAXJA for a long time, so I'm sure I know some of you already. Anyway the MJ is an 88, 4.0, 5 speed (Puke Goat), 2wd. I've converted it to bucket seats thanks to my friend Dustin (Comancheon33 on here), and I've added 97+ mirrors and full gauges. Future plans include a 97+ header panel and fenders, new doors, and a possible 4wd conversion. Everything is just about perfect right now though so I'm tempted to just not mess with it. Some pics of it... Small lights on... Small lights gone... Bench... Buckets (filthy but at least they're buckets) Me standing with my XJ and MJ plus my bros' ZJ and XJ. Anyway glad to be a part of ComancheClub now, I've wanted one since I started driving a Cherokee and just finally got one...it friggin rocks! Thanks for all the help I'm sure I'll get in the future from here. -Collin
