  1. The one that you said there isn't even a hole in the firewall for...is that by the blower motor/heater box? Did you get the harness from a 97+?
  2. Hey we're not all dicks, we just get tired of people not searching.
  3. Yeah that thing took a whopping dude. We thought Bode was hard on that thing...Randy must really not give two shats.
  4. Is that you or Hensel driving Randy's MJ Dustin? That thing got pounded huh?
  5. Looks like you guys had fun. Watson...it's Memorial Day dammit, you confused the heck out of me. ;)
  6. 84-94 XJ sliders will work on your MJ bases, after that they changed the design completely with the floor pans of the XJ.
  7. Yeah I'm thinking about maybe getting some stock Grand Canyons for it...maybe, although I don't really (yet) air down anyway so it's not too big of a deal. I could see when I start wheeling it seriously though and air them down I might run into problems. Thanks for the heads up man.
  8. No I actually won't be down there this weekend because this is my graduation party and ceremony plus the MJ is still 2wd so it's not going to be ready for a bit yet. I know Dustin and those guys are still going down though so you might want to talk with him. Thanks, I got rid of the decals with a hairdryer and razor blade. Have a person warm the decal in front of you as you slowly peel it off, same goes for the pinstriping. It works like a charm and the best part is I ended up using no goo gone of any kind. Good luck!
  9. That would be Comancheon33 (35s now) 's MJ in the background.
  10. I was thrilled with that finished product only to realize that was no feeling of thrilled when I saw this...where it sits at today. Specs: Rockkrawler 4.5" coils, Non Disco D30, Chrysler 8.25 out of 99 XJ with Discs and SOA, 34x9.50 Super Swampers on 15x8 Rockkrawlers, Por-15'd bed cap...and the damn thing is still 2wd with a puke goat. That is the final thing and then it is ready for the trails And the pics will continue tomorrow. I now have chrome center caps in the Rockkrawlers and will Por-15 the bottom 1/4s of the MJ. Thinking about maybe just doing the whole thing, but we'll see. Por-15 is awesome by the way. Let me know what ya'll think.
  11. Next I got the MJ lifted thanks to my buddy Dustin (comancheon33)'s help. In progress Done with 33" Duelers with probably 1/32 of their treadlife left I thought that looked great...
  12. Affectionately dubbed "The BFT" because it is bigger than my XJ. This is what I started off with...1988 MJ Pioneer 2wd Had a brush guard which I liked at first but don't now so I got rid of it... Next I ditched the bench... and added some buckets It had a cone air intake which was slightly cobbled together...it worked just fine, I just didn't like the look... So I ditched it and put in a stock airbox and a stamped steel valve cover I also got rid of all decals except the Pioneer on the back...
  13. I'm a jackass, sorry I missed those. Well it sounds like it may be more of a PITA than I thought then, but I think it will still be worth it. I'll go back with a drill next week and see what I can figure out. Thanks.
  14. So in my minagerie of typing you probably didn't catch my question but...are any of the holes similar on either the TCU bracket or steering column mount? Also that hole up by the blower motor has to be drilled right? Thanks again.
  15. Well yeah since it was in a muddy junkyard and we were getting rain frequently I tried to haul ars getting it out. I guess it really only took me 4 probably 3 hour days to pull the whole dash and entire wiring harness, so not too bad. Here's a few pics of the back of the dash. I will be bringing the heater box inside out of the Heep tonight so hopefully I can get some shots of that if needbe. As I said if anyone else needs pics let me know. I figure since 1999MJ has been so much help to us we can help him by taking pics so he doesn't have to.
  16. So I got everything out of the 99 today. I'm hoping since I have everything apart I can just take pictures of stuff so you don't have to rip yours back apart. Are these the two brackets I'm going to have to drill new holes for and/or weld? Are any of the mounting points for these there already? This hole must also have to be drilled for the wiring harness eh? And anyone else who has questions let me know. I have the dash completely separated right now; so if you have any picture requests... I can hopefully take care of ya. Thanks, Collin
  17. Got the dash itself out today thanks to your help man. I tell ya what once you get the "face" off you can really see all the support systems and such. Looks like it's going to a challenge to get the whole duct system out though. I see 5 studs going through the firewall, do you remember what else holds it in?
  18. You should watch him in action...he's like a damn lawnmower for trees.
  19. Makes the wheels look a touch on the small side. You need to move up to some 20"s gangsta.
  20. Ya I'm a tard sorry. When I went back to the junkyard today I got the dash most of the way out and realized the steering column support isn't part of the dash, I thought it was. I figured when you swapped the dash over the mount went with it, sorry for that dumb question. But I have yet another...where all does the dash itself mount? I found the two pivot points behind the kick panels, the 5 or 6 along the windshield, and the heater box studs through the firewall. Is that and a slew of wiring to be unplugged all there is to pulling the dash itself, do you remember? Once again, I thank you for your knowledge. -Collin
  21. Hey 1999MJ I've got a couple more questions for you. I think they might be for the good of the group too. I'm planning to start this swap to my 1990 XJ in the next couple weeks. Really confused as to why I'm doing this to my XJ when I could just go buy a new one, but I just want to. I got the steering column from the junkyard on Friday already so now I have to go back and pull the dash. Anywho here's the questions... 1. I don't have a welder, is it possible to do everything without one? Or is it atleast possible to get it to where it'll drive without one? 2. I've got a 99+ intake on my 90 engine. Is there any reason I couldn't run my current engine with the new wiring, beside from maybe fuel injectors? I know my transmission will have to be changed because of the speed sensor or whatever but I think I can keep my current engine. 3. Did you have any problems with the wiring? Is it something you think an 18 year old kid could do without much problem? I have a multimeter and some very basic knowledge of wiring...am I going to run into problems ya think? 4. For the steering column mounting you said you had to do some welding. I couldn't find anyplace where you'd have to because it only mounts to the dash in 4 places...can you elaborate on that a little more? Thanks a ton, Collin
  22. Well I guess I could plug the plugs into the back of the switch. I just can't seem to even see where those wires would go though, and the partial harness definitely didn't make it to the front end anywhere.
  23. I don't know though, the thing is, it was a factory switch in the dash bezel blank area. That was the weird part. Anyway that thing is gone now and I have the true switch panel mounted there. There is the green wiring right behind that area that has a label that still says fog lights on it. I'm just trying to figure if that weatherpack connector in the engine bay is for fogs or what? I'm starting to think it is.
  24. Yeah I wonder about that. It's a Pioneer so it was available and the weird thing was the switch was just mounted in that "blank" in the dash bezel, it wasn't in it's own switch panel. I don't know for sure though, I'm going to try to trace wires. Anyone else have ideas on the rest?
  25. I'm just not sure what a couple of these wire ends are. I have pretty good ideas, just not 100%. We'll start off with my almost postives here... Hood light I have to assume. It's all just wound up in the relay center and has like 5 feet of excess. Another view...It comes out of the wiring loom that the blower motor wiring is in Next one I have to assume is the washer fluid level sensor plug? These last two I really have no intelligent ideas on. Maybe A/C Compressor on this one? Red wire with black tracer. All I can come up with for this one is fog lights. I have the switch inside that says fog lights but I haven't traced the wires and the thing doesn't have fog lights right now. I also couldn't find the relay for them which is strange if it really did have them. Maybe electric fan wiring too-maybe. Kind of a cool weatherpack plug block off, I've never seen one of those before. Any ideas on these would be great. Not really worried about them, just curious. Thanks guys, Collin
