So the motor blew on my MJ. I am starting the build on making my 88 comanche into a 2000 comanche using everything from drivetrain wiring carpet to fenders and doors should be fun!! i just thought i should write up something and show everyone the progress!
so i picked up a 2000 rolled xj to get the parts from:
pulled the two in next to eachother and started ripping the MJ apart and then got it all gutted had a little rust to deal with but no big deal:
all primed:
painted :
and now onto the fun stuff cut the brackets off to allow for room for the new steering colum bracket:
started mocking the steering column bracket in:
had to nip the corner off:
and started to get some wiring in:
XJ torn apart:
Relocating the steering column hole through the fire wall :
Made a plate to fix the hole:
Started with the insulation:
And did a bit more insulation and pad... then started mounting the new steering column bracket :
made some plates and welded them on to the existing flange to mount the upper part of the dash:
got the dash in and and mounted:
started looking at where the ebrake and shifter go:
Sorry guys I missed a couple inbetween pictures like doing more insulation and the lower mounting holes for the dash... I will be doing more work on it today so look for more updates tonight
Thanx for looking
