  1. How does that make any sense though? I'm talking about an old Fullsize AMC Grand Wagoneer with the amc v8 in it and I'm pretty certain its wider than any mj or any of the mid size jeeps.
  2. If I did this swap I would take both axles from this wagoneer, the front D44 and the rear AMC20, so both the front and the back will be the same width. I'm just curious how wide it will be, will it look like Petes, or wider, or not as wide? how much wider is it? Also, This swap would be a project of mine and I would rebuild the whole thing, and won't be throwing it right in. So, if I go through with this swap, I plan on buying 6 lugg wheels and bigger better tires, along with rebuilding it and installing an lsd/locker. 87manche is on the same track with me, I do want to be able to customize it, and those gears are monsters. That MJ 20 sounds awsome! Thanks dirty, I'll check on that.
  3. Ive never seen one of those with disk brakes yet. I just don't really like that axle its just too heavy-weight, I know its stronger, Just don't like the bulky look of it. It seems like its big and hangs low. I like the 20 just because of the rarity, and coolness of it I guess. But I'm looking for as easy a swap as I can get. such as a dana 44 but I'm goin to look at another junk yard right now so I'll report back tonight. Tom
  4. http://coloradok5.com/axleguide.shtml According to that link above, my options are pretty wide. I could get pretty much any of those axles, most of em are there, and the junkyard only wants like 50 bucks an axle so money really isnt an issue. There are plenty of ford 8.8's and 9's, and then there is the amc20 with the d44 front. I was under the impression that the 20 was crap but I suppose its only really the two piece axle shafts. You guys mentioned the FSJ 20's had one pieces? is there any way I can tell? And is it still worth it if it has two pieces. Does anybody make one pieces for it, and how expensive are they? or is there a swap I could do. (link me up, I don't know where to start) Also your saying I would need spacers, is the AMC 20 not as wide as my 35? I would think that its wider, or was that just mentioned for my lug pattern? If I don't need the spacers I may just grab some 6 lugg wheels.
  5. I'm trying to stay narrow, thats why I want it out of a jeep. I'm not gonna cry though if its a little wider. tire size I'm not sure about, I would like to rum somewhere from 33-35. I suppose my only real beef with the ford stuff is that they are heavy and fullsize. I like the sound of the 44 because it seems strong but not to beefy.
  6. yeah, AMC 20= no good, womp womp womp... well what did the 60's come on? The J-trucks? I guess I'm just gonna comtinue my search for a 44 from a jeep cuz I don't really want a Ford axle.
  7. Okay, I found this old 85 Wagoneer at a junk yard close to me. I suspect it has a dana 60 axle set and I think I want to gank it. I just need a little help verifying that it is a 60. The diff case was a complete, perfect circle and had the appearance of half a sphere. The wheels are six lugg and the junk yard wants 53 bucks per axle! I deffinitly think I'm gonna go for it but I just want to know for sure if that is a dana 60, if it will be too wide, or if anyone has any other information that would be usefull before I buy them.
  8. yeah they both run. The 90 has a rusted frame and one of the leaf spring shackles broke off, so the axle kinda goes wherever it wants. the gas tank is also rusted through so its not drivable for long distances but the engine thats in it is in perfect mechanical condition; good luck with your buy aemsee, yeah I like the turbines. If you look at the ones on my 91 they are different than the normal ones that are on the 90, they're deeper or somthin. pretty spiffy
  9. Thats so cool. Yeah I suppose it may be 3 inch... might be less, but thanks for the answer about the package.
  10. Hey Guys, I'm new here, so whats up. I have always wanted one of these awesome trucks and I saw these on ebay and had to go for it. I bought the both of them for 1200$!! They are both 4x4 and both stick, both 4.0s each have a little over 100k on them. I live in jersey and drove out to Ohio to pick these up (Woot Woot all you ohio guys, your state is beautiful, I didnt want to leave). I had planned to tow the 90 with the 91 but it didnt work out. So i have to go back to pick up the 90. the 91 is the beefier one with less rust and the brush guard. The 90 is just going to be a parts truck, the 91 is my project and DD. hope you like them... Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found So far this is what I have done to it: plugged in temp guage sender replaced blower purchased a good battery and fixed the hold-down fixed vacum hose for 4x4 and other things (still needs vacum motor) Installed new front brake rotors and pads Installed new valve stem seals(cleaned & lapped valves) it was burning oil replaced radiator & thermostat installed bosch platinum +2'sparkplugs and new rotor, cap, and wires replaced fuel rail and installed all new injectors replaced fuel filter flushed and changed oil (switched to synthetic) put in new filter new head gasket, mainifold gasket, t-stat housing gasket installed a goodyear gatorback serpentine belt fixed the seats and dash pannel & installed new bulbs in dash replaced steering wheel with stock cherokee one and fixed horn installed sun visors and headliner is now held up Upgraded sound system & fixed antenna installed a catylitic converter and new muffler (thrush, sounds great) fixed rear liscence plate light ran sea foam through it BTW the 91 is lifted but I'm not really sure what it has because I can't read the shocks. My friend thinks that it has the up-country package because it has the engine skidplate and just cuz its not that high and looks stock. But guys on other forums tell me there was no such package available for the manche' so if you guys know if they did offer it of not that would be cool.
  11. Hey could you make the normal logo ones clear, like for a window, no color? I'm just curious...
