  1. I will give that a try. It sounds like it will be hard to do. I have to take one side of the control arm off to adjust them. The springs are 6.5". Hope to have some pics up for you guys once I finish. Thanks for the help.
  2. thats where its confusing because it DIFFERENTIATES... without a differential... :brows: i love engineers :hateputers: Easy on us now!! :D
  3. I'm putting adjustable control arms on the mj. How should I go about getting the front axle in the right place? Should I measure off of the rear axle and set it a what the wheel base is suposed to be? If so what is the wheel base of a mj? I have installed the control arms at what the manufacturer specified but the spring has a curve in it as if the axle was too far towards the rear of the truck. Thanks
  4. Directly from rough country
  5. Thought I would share my experience with others. I ordered and paid for a rough country lift on November 17th. When I ordered the kit they told me the control arm were on back order. No problem, I can understand that. I called them on the 21st and they told me everything was in and that they were going to ship them on the 22nd. I told them not to ship it because I wanted it asap and that I would come pick it up (they are about a hour and a half from me.) So I go down there Friday morning and they first tell me I can't pick it up because the kit is not boxed up. I insist on getting it since I had driven down there. They said ok and went to the back to pull the parts for me. The guy comes out with springs shocks and half of a transfer case drop kit. He says that the rest is not there and that it was on back order. This is after they told me all the parts were in and gave me the goahead to come pick them up. So the guy says they will box up the rest of the parts on monday and ship them in the morning. don't know how they are going to do this if they don't have the parts. I wait until the 29th and nothing shows up. So I call them on the 30th and the guy says first that the parts were shipped on the 27th, he then says that they have not been shiped at all. So I don't know when I will get the kit or what will be in it. I will let you guys know how the kit works if it ever comes in. Just thought I would let you know how they operate incase anyone was thinking of ordering anything from them. Thanks for letting me vent. I feel much better now.
  6. :chillin: :shake:
  7. I'm planning to build a bumper myself. What other attatchment points would you use?
  8. A friend of mine has a front and rear locker out of a 2000 model wrangler. I have a 91' comanche with stock axles. I was going to buy the rear axles because they are upgraded. So the first question is will these axles fit into my stock rearend. His front axle (DANA 30) was stock so the second question is will the front locker work in my DANA 30? Does my front axle have the same splines as a 2000 wrangler? Any input would be very helpful. Thanks
  9. Thanks for all the great information. I'm going to try to find a d44 for the rear unless I can get my hands on something else. What does the transmision switch on the dash do. I asume it changes the rpm that the trasmission shifts at. Going to Paddy's bluff 4x4 jamboree in western Kentucky this weekend. Is there anyone else in the area that will be there with a mj?
  10. Thats not what I wanted to hear. What axles should I get?
  11. axles are stock
  12. I have 33s but may end up putting 35s on it. not sure yet on the gears. I could use some direction with that also. Thanks
  13. They have been a great help. I just bought a 91' all stock. I am ready to put a lift and whells on it. I thought about a 6" lift but thought why not just go for 8" while I'm doing it. The kits are expensive but I'm am willing to pay for one. I just want to know that I will get quality equipment for the money. As far as making my own I don't have a great deal of experience doing it but have a friend that does. If I do make/fab my own in the rear what front lift should I go with? Also if I weld the gears together in the front axel (i still have the stock one) can I use a cable to lock and unlock the front axel. What are the pros and cons of this setup. Thanks for all the great feedback!
  14. If rusty's is no good then where do you suggest getting a lift from? I would like to go 8"
