I have the Dana 35 with 3.07 gearing. I started my 4wd conversion today and decided to replace my timing chain cover while I was at it, which slowed me down considerably. lots of brackets to remove and bolts to lose  ...inserting the axle is hopefully the easiest part.
My friends and I tried putting the 134 conversion oil in my system and it wouldnt even get out of the can, and we had it hooked to the post on the right with the max a/c going. There was absolutely nothing in the system given it sat for 8 years before I got to it, so what am I doing wrong? :???:
How long is the driveshaft on am 89 MJ 4x4 with a 10/5 tranny and 231 t-case? I'm about to get a driveshaft cut and need to get it right the first time.
To check your tie rod ends, take a big breaker bar, brace it against something, and try to push down on the top of all your tie rod ends. If it depresses any, replace it.
My suggestion is don't even take a 2wd MJ offroad if you don't have to, but if you do, keep the wheels straight and get some speed coming up to a mud patch. If the ground is dry however, go for it, just don't stop
I don't plan to lift the truck anytime soon, I'm just tired of getting stuck on wet grass :fs1: I'm also wanting the stock 3.07 front axle too so I can use 4wd on the road and I don't want to mess with my stock rear end.
I don't see any rubber on my driveshaft, I'm not sure how theyd cut it I just don't wanna screw up my driveshaft and be without my comanche til I buy another driveshaft
I'm looking for a reverse light wiring harness for the 10/5 tranny and a vaccuum switch harness for an np231 t-case for my 4x4 conversion. I'm in the north texas area and will pay for shipping. I will need a 3.07 d30 front axle soon as well (that hasnt been chopped up any) but I'm in no hurry, and this I would rather go and pick up somewhere close. Anything else you think I may need just tell me, thanks
Can I use a 10/5 tranny with a wrangler 231 t-case for a 4x4 swap? and can I use a front d30 from a 1990-96 xj axle on my 89 MJ?
I'm also not sure how to read the gearing off the tag on my d35 rear end.
