Anyone have an extra cross member they are willing to part with?

I have the BA10 right now. I was wanting to know if it is possible to keep the transfer case with the vacuum port if say I can find one from a 89 or 90 or if it is just better to upgrade to the newer design.

I know the spline counts are different. When you look at all the breaks it shows 90-95 and then 96-01. I just wondered if the newer style is needed with a newer transmission. Also my understanding is no floor pan beating on the Comanche with the wrangler transmission?

If I go with an 1998 wrangler transmission for my ax15 swap do I also need a newer style transfer case?

Which other transfer cases will work for a used shaft? Around here the cheapest used 231 transfer case you can find is about $200.00

I think you could do a little better on the price. I just picked up my 88 4x4 4.0 and ba10 for $700.00. Turns out the transmission is trash, but the body is straight and rust free also the interior is perfect, runs great has new tires and new exhaust.

What is the most economical way to swap shafts(New or Used?). I am guessing finding a used one would be best but I do not know what other transfer cases would have the correct shaft. The most inexpensive new one I could find online is about $150.00. I am guessing I will need some seals after I take it apart. Any advise would be great. Thanks, Joe

So I bought this transmission. I am going to pick it up this weekend.

Took the steam cleaner at work and cleaned the entire bottom side to get ready for the transmission swap. The transmission and transfer case look brand new.

I have talked to that guy. Does it matter that it is from a Wrangler?

They want $800 here to rebuild one. I have been searching for an ax15 but have not found one that I think is the right price yet.

Installed a new valve cover gasket. PO had installed the cork gasket and every single bolt was only hand tight. To say the least it was an oily mess.

So I have a 1988 long bed with 4.0 and BA10. I am hearing alot of noise from the throw out bearing(I believe) and also it is hard for the transmission to shift into 2nd and pops out of 3rd. I can shift into all the gears smoothly when sitting still. Do you think I need to just replace the throw out bearing or do you think the transmission is toast also. Since I have to tear it apart anyway is it worth changing to the AX-15?

Hello I am new here but not new to jeeps. I have a 88 Comanche long bed with 4.0 4x4 and the BA10 transmission. Well either the tranny or the throw out bearing are gone. I am wondering how much I should pay for a good AX15. The best price I can find in my area is $300 from a 1989 Cherokee. Seems steep to me.
