  1. I had the same problem about a year ago. The hot wire goin to my fuel pump was shortin out at the plug. May not be your problem but easy to check
  2. So if the yellow wire on the plug has a steady 12v and a good connection is made. Between the stud and the batt+ it should charge. Correct?
  3. What wire do i need to double check. Can i just run new wires. What does the other wire on the plug do (brown with black stripe)
  4. It very easily could be. The truck sat for many many years in a wood line. Took me a long time to get it running and driving. This charging problem is the only thing i can't figure out
  5. Its reading 12v and drains down the more load you put on it. Ive been tryin to figure this out for over a year. Three different alt probably a dozen batteries. Can you convert it to a one wire system
  6. The same battery charges in my beater truck. And i have had multiple good batterys in it. For example the battery out of my daily driver

  8. I just replaced the batt for that reason. I had it tested before i brought it home. Does the computer control the charging system.
  9. Wondering what all it consist of. I have had to pull my trans way too many times. Can you get a good slave cylinder. Ive bought 4 of them they have all been plastic
  10. I put a new alt. On it. I had the old one tested 5 or 6 times it tested out great. So i put it back on. Ive checked the fused link. I have 12 volts at the stud and the yellow wire on the plug.
  11. I have a 88 comanche. Ive tried everything i can think of and can't get my alternator to charge. I have been told you can convert a stock alternator to a one wire. Wondering if this is true. Or how much trouble it would be to run a gm one wire
  12. And the gauge is showing about 10 volts and goes down as the battery gets weak

  14. Ok. I have run a wire Straight from battery to alt and a wire from battery to the yellow wire its not showing its charging at all.

  16. Okay. I took the alt. And had it tested 4 times at two different places and it pass everytime. took it home put it back on not charging. Yellow wire is hot but I ran a hot wire to it any way. Still no charge. Stud is hot. I'm about to go crazy :headpop:
  17. Yea same as battery. Its not putting out anything. It was charging like two days ago
  18. Is the yellow wire supposed to be hot all the time when the key is on?
  19. OK. I finally got to go home and work on the Comanche. I check the yellow wire at the plug it was not hot. I ran a hot wire to it and it started charging. I was so excited then about 5 min later it quit again. I tried grounding body to motor. Motor to neg. And body the neg post. Oh yea and now the yellow wire is hot.

  21. I thought so too. But I bought a new one and had it tested before I went home and it was good. I also had the old one tested and it tested good. That is why I am so lost

  23. Yes I tested at the stud. Its not charging a lick. I do n't remember seeing a fuse I will definitely check that out when I get home
  24. Where is the in line fuse located.
