  1. All I need are both cab corners (rust free LOL) in order to get my truck to the body shop to get restored. I have the rockers from Key Parts already but they are a long ways out from having reproduction cab corners ready. Thanks.
  2. Nice! I have an '86 Eagle wagon I'm fixing up, see my vids here:
  3. The guy is 65, so yes, he paid someone else to do the work. I think his days of wrenching are over. He said he's the kind of guy who takes care of his vehicles. He's had this for a year and it's just not fitting him well (he's big/tall).
  4. The guy called me this morning. He said he's asking 4,100 because he's got over $7K into it. He bought it a year ago and has put on new brakes, tires, water pump, thermostat, seals, u-joint(s), rear main, diff seal, etc. He also built a new bumper for the back. It's got 3xx,000 km on it but not too much rust. He got it out of Alberta. When the wife found out... uh oh... we'll see ;-) Women!  Anyone want to take the Ranger off my hands?
  5. I've seen them go for more. There was one in BC that was mint. It looked new but it was jacked up with big tires. Like I said I don't know the condition of this one...
  6. Well since my vehicle plans change on a daily basis I unfortunately made the decision to get a new 07 Ranger instead of a 'manche. It wasn't a bad deal because I got $1,000 in free accessories, 0% financing for 60 months, plus it's got warranty (read: I pay for oil changes and that's about it). It's a regular cab shortbox 4 cylinder, so it looks good and gets great mileage. I've had it for about 4 months now but every time I come back here I want a Comanche bad. I've seen some here and there but they're mostly rust buckets. There's one a few hours from me (a 91 4x4), I've tried calling them a few times but there's been no answer. I guess I'll keep trying. They don't say in the ad how many miles are on the truck but they say "1991 JEEP COMANCHE 4X4, 5 speed trans, very rare, very good condition. $4,100". Keep in mind that's CDN $$ and I don't know how many miles are on it. I'll let you know if I ever get ahold of the guy!
  7. UPS can suck my brown hole LOL. In Canada they suck ROYALLY!!!!!!! I've been raped for "brokerage" charges so many times it's not even funny. I've refused some stuff on eBay because sometimes those Americans only ship UPS, no exceptions. If only they knew... Maybe UPS has brainwashed some (American) eBay sellers? p.s. Did I mention UPS sucks?
  8. So I bought a new 2007 Jeep Compass. So far it's been great. Some people say it's ugly. I said it's ugly the first time I saw it too. But a happy wife means a happy life. Anywho, I found a nice 2WD 88 MJ not that far from me last week. I contacted them but it was sold the day before. DOH! I'm still looking for an MJ, preferably in SK.
  9. The 'manche is yellow because it's the Pennzoil color. I've never seen a factory yellow one either.
  10. So I was cruising Google looking up Jeep info. I came across this interesting tidbit. Apparently in China, they still make the old fashioned XJ Cherokee. It's called the Jeep 2500. Wikipedia source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Cherokee_%28XJ%29 Jeep China Source: http://www.jeep.com.cn/jeep2500/home.html So that had me thinking.... would it be possible for Jeep to produce another "old" Comanche? It doesn't seem that farfetched since they still have an active factory producing the old unibody XJ's. I'd buy one in a heartbeat, no questions asked, even if it was built in China. OK, well I might ask "what color?". What do you think? If they built them again, would you buy them? Of course we would. How can we convince DCX that this wouldn't be impossible????
  11. Good to know, thanks.
  12. This has probably been answered a thousand times before... but how hard is it to change a 2WD shortbox Comanche into 4WD? Can you just get a donor Cherokee? Can you put in the full-time 4WD SelecTrac system????
  13. I love that story! That's what I call Street Justice. You can't do that in Canada ;)
  14. OK, let's say I'm looking at a used Comanche for sale. I don't have the tools to jack up the back end and rotate one tire to see if it has a limited slip differential. The truck in question is a 89 Eliminator. 4.0L, 5 spd, 2WD. Can I tell from the code on the door jamb or something? Or just dump the clutch and find out the fun way ;) I haven't gone to look at the Jeep yet. It's in another province 550km away and so I can't even get there to see the truck for another 2 weeks (if it's not sold). :Canadaflag: Also, with some weight in the back and some good tires, do the 2WD trucks go anywhere in the winter? My wife has a 2007 Jeep Compass 4WD but I can't drive it too often so I want to make sure I can get around when we get a big snow dump.
  15. I hope he's listening. I like that this is a Comanche-only site. That's why I'm spending my time here...
  16. This must be the one: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1464
  17. I've been on this forum for like a day and it seems pretty much everyone here has a jacked up 4x4. Are there any mean street machines out there? My last truck was a 2001 F-150 2WD. I like all trucks, not just big 4x4's. This is somewhat tongue-in-cheek. But if you guys have some good pics of "street" 2WD trucks, I want to see them
  18. Is this for your MJ??? Depending on what vehicle it is, you might get the complete how-to guide with pics here: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroke ... epairGuide
