1987, Renix 4.0, Aw4, np231 I have a free 99 Isuzu rodeo aux fan and I was wondering if it would fit on my Comanche. I have not taken any measurements yet but it looks like it might work as a replacement to my mechanical fan. Anyone looked into this before?

I replaced the thermostat yesterday. We now think that the coolant isn't flowing.

I don't think my cap could ever hold pressure, it would not get tight but it now has a hose clamp around it so it does get tight and hold pressure.

Head light conversion question
ComancheDude11 replied to ICEBOX's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So, if some were to get that harness, how hard would it be to install. -
Well it never did this when it was 100+ degree weather, it has started now that it's around 90-95 dergree weather.

Howdy, i've got an 87 4.0 renix Comanche. It has the idiot lights and the temp light is usually on really dim or not at all. After driving it for about 20 minutes it starts spewing coolant out of the plastic jugg on the passenger side. I know it's a pressurized system from the info on here but it doesn't seem to pressurize. There is no crack on the jugg, but the lid won't tighten up. It is filled up halfway when cool. So is there a replacement lid?

H3RESQ's Dream MJ, the build continues...
ComancheDude11 replied to H3RESQ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Do your LED tail lights have reverse lights? If so what is the brand name if you know what it is? I'm looking to put some on my truck -
Even on a renix? And I just think it will run better if we tune it right.

Is there anyway to adjust the timing with with the distributor? It seems like it is pinned and we can't adjust it.

Isuzu Rodeo 44 with limited slip?
ComancheDude11 replied to ComancheDude11's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok, so I know that the internals of a 98+ Isuzu d44 is different than a Mj/Xj d44. My axle is out of a 99 so will my stock driveshaft fit onto the Isuzu d44? -
Isuzu Rodeo 44 with limited slip?
ComancheDude11 replied to ComancheDude11's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
And if I do this I want to get a Dana 30 with 4.10s already instead of re gearing. I hear that the newer Cherokees have Hp Dana 30s with bigger u joints. So which years have those axles? -

Oh ok, thanks for the info. And yes I do realize it has the 6 lug pattern and I plan on buying wheel adapters on it. -
Isuzu Rodeo 44 with limited slip?

Ok, well I wasn't sure. But what about the snow button the rodeo had, what is it? -
Isuzu Rodeo 44 with limited slip?

So I've got a Rodeo d44 with 4.10 gears that I'm looking to put under my Comanche. The Rodeo I took it out of has a snow button which I'm not sure if it is traction control or a limited slip? The axle has 2 wires coming out of it on top of the diff. I was thinking about taking diff cover off and looking but I do not know what a limited slip or traction control looks like. So any help would be great. -
I may just be stupid but I cannot find a search feature at jeepstrokers.com. :dunno: So if someone could answer my question or direct me to the search, that would be very helpful. :D

Also, I have a Renix era 4.0 so is there anything I would need to do or could I just bolt a stroker in?
-
Does your truck really come alive when you put your foot in it?
-
And I also have no idea what to do for a camshaft. Do you guys have an idea I'm looking to get at least 16 mpg and have a medium powerband for good highway power.
-
Ok, I'm building this for my daily driver that's got 31s and I'm thinking about getting some 4.10 gears. I like to play in the mud, slide around, and go fast sometimes. And my current engine is on its way out and I want a stroker anyway. :)

Hello i've got an 87 Comanche Renix 4.0/aw4 that I want to build a stroker for. I have the engine that was in the truck before we put this engine in that is now not running good. So basically from my research for stroker motors, this is what I want to do. 1: 1987 block, bored .30 over 2: 4.2 crank with 4 counterweights, and 54mm nose 3: 4.0 connecting and push rods 4: the Keith black 944(?) pistons 5: I have no idea for a cam, I would like to get good power but get around 16 mpg or better 6: 95-96 HO head 7: 99+ intake 8: stock header with good flowing exhaust 9: ford 5.0 injectors I just want to know if this is correct for a stroker. And since I have a Renix 4.0 now, do I need to do any thing to the computer or electrical to do a stroker or is it stroker ready? I plan on doing all the work myself except the machining on the block.

Well I'm from Augusta, Kansas. It's just east of Wichita. Got my first truck and and it's a 87 Jeep Comanche. I lifted it and put 31s on it. So if any of y'all pass through and see one with a set of longhorns on it, that's me.
-
I changed the O2 sensor and I amnow getting 14 mpg with the same set up.
-
I have not replaced the O2 sensor since I bought it a few months back, so I think I will replace tha sensor and see what happens.
-
Sweet Jeep dude. And where did you get those rims and what are they called?
-
Well my front axle doesn't disengage(miss spelled?) because of the vaccum thing so that is part of why I get 11 mpg. I got 13 before I lifted it due to the axle.
