  1. I would just order the whole leaf pack but can't afford it right now. I'm thinking I'm gonna try throwing some xj leafs in it. Its already got a 1.5" to 2" lift in the back compared to the front so it shouldnt need to go up to much. I want the truck level with no rake like now.
  2. I just bought my old xj back off a buddy for parts for the comanche. It has a 4.5" lift with 32s I wanna throw on with a 8.8 rear end I have. Ive been debating on this for some time and don't wanna go soa because then I will have to add spacers to level it out. I know spring packs are the best bet but I don't have the extra cash for them. AALs arent the best but would work. Could I rob some leafs from the xj pack to level the rear out?
  3. I'm digging the raptor finish, good looking truck.
  4. Love your build, it makes me want to get mine lifted even worse haha. I think I'm just gonna throw the xj leafs in for now and see what happens.
  5. Could I add some more leafs from the xj pack to get the truck around 4.5"?
  6. Yea thats what I was wondering, maybe I should save up for some Hell Creek springs to even it out.
  7. Sweet build can't wait to see this one complete!
  8. I'm buying my old Cherokee back off a buddy for cheap for the parts. Its got a 4.5" skyjacker lift in it with add a leafs, I want to put the lift in my Comanche and was wondering how much lift it would give I know its not gonna be 4.5' because the leafs are different arches.
  9. haha I figured I would this is gonna cost a little, but be worth it when done. thanks
  10. Do I need to get anythign with my original gears being 3.07s?
  11. HP and LP gears are not interchangeable. LP's use standard-cut gears. HP's use reverse-cut gears. The only thing of value on the TJ D30 is maybe the shafts for the other axle the OP says he has. -Adam Thanks for the info looks like I gotta start saving
  12. Hes got a set of 4.10 gears laying around from his upgrade I can get for 50 but then I have to buy a install kit and pay a guy to regear mine.
  13. I just picked up a ford 8.8 with 4.10 for my comanche and have a buddy that has a 98 Wrangler axle with 4.10 gears I can get off him and be way cheaper than gearing mine. But am I better off keeping mine or just swapping over for around 100$
  14. looking forward to seeing the build
  15. I'm just curious what everyone with a swapped v8 is getting for gas mileage.
  16. I'm located in NY I don't know what he wants for them. I plan on swapping to a 8.8 so no need for the rear discs either.
  17. The bilisteens and RE mono tubes were the shocks I was looking at I had cheap shocks on my last xj and it rode like crap. So I wanna do my Comanche right
  18. My buddy is gonna be scrapping 2 Grand Cherokee 4.0s and was wondering if there is anything that I should rip off of them for my Comanche build. I already have an upgraded brake booster. Thanks guys
  19. Well I'm getting the RE 5.5" for my 88 and was wondering what your thought were on shocks I daily drive and tow a small boat with the Jeep with alot of fun time spent off road. Ive been looking at alot of different shocks and firgured I would get some input.
  20. Its a typical 14ft v bottom but its got decks and console and a 30 horse on the back I can't wait to get on the water
  21. Well thats good to know, I plan on swapping in a 8.8 with 4.10s when I do the SOA in the spring just collecting parts now. I can't wait!!!
  22. I'm just curious how many people tow with there lifted comanches. I'm in the process of buying a lift kit and got thinking about towing the boat this summer its only a 14' aluminum bass boat but it and the truck will be loaded for a weekend camping trip. Looking into the 5.5" from RE, should i go a little smaller to be safe?
  23. Yea with looking at prices I'm thinking long arm now instead of later and instead of wasting money on short arms. How is the install on the RC long arm kit?
  24. Thats why I'm asking you guys to see what you guys are running. I'm mostly daily driving and weekend off roader. If there not worth the money I'm just gonna go short arm.
  25. Ive been building a kit in my head and with control arms and drop brackets I have the price of either Rough Country or Iron Rock Off Road long arm kits. What kit is better for the money and what one installs easier on the Comanche I have a 5sp and its not the ax15 seen something before that the RC didn't line up good or something. Or for the money am I better off going short arms and drop brackets? Thanks for the input I just sold my 96 xj so money is going into the comnache :wrench:
