Groundpounder replied to Groundpounder's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's good thanks. It sounds like I defintley want less then 4. Or at least 3.75. -
I need some advice I am putting 35 12.50 15 tires on my swb mj with 6.5 lift and long arms. Probably pitbull rocker radials maybe km2's or mtr kevlars. I am going to use 15x 10 rims what's a good offset and backspacing too keep the wheels out where they should be Please show me pics of yours for reference if you have them Thanks!

Cool i was wondering if anyone on here saw it on ebay before i got it, it is a very good start to what i wanna do with it, and darn solid too. Very soon here I'm gonna order the long arms, coils, discos, front shocks, etc. now that i have the rear pretty much where i want it, then the wheels and tires.

Also got my bilstein 5100's for the rear. And my universal shock mounts and 4degree shims thanks to motionoffroad.

Go Beserk flares for XJ on MJ?
Groundpounder replied to Groundpounder's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yea i was able to find the site for the manufacter for them, ill just have to use my imagination for seeing them on a manche haha -
I need opinions on determining what size tires to get. I have a swb 4x4 --This is how the suspension will be set up when ready... -SOA Rear stock leaf packs -1" lift shackle -6.5" coils front -Rock krawler long arms here are my thoughts on the matter -As far as i know i have stock gearing for now, but it is 5 speed. i don't want to lose all my drivability. i do plan to regear just not right away. -I don't have trimmed fenders now, but i might when i get aftermarket flares (go beserk flares) -I do want to run it on the road/ highway -I don't want to buy 33" tires and wish i had gotten 35's -I run alot of mud and trails, so a couple more inches does help. Then i need to choose between these different tires. -Baja claws, i had bad expierence with them on highways (shaking) -MTR Kevlars, Great for trails but idk about mud, don't seem agressive enough -BFG Km2, They run small, wear fast, and ive seen the sidewalls don't take abuse well. -General grabber, i really want these but noone knows how they are in mud, snow, etc. I would like any input on the subject, -Cory

Go Beserk flares for XJ on MJ?
Groundpounder replied to Groundpounder's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thats ok, I'm not going to be ordering them for awhile anyhow. More important things to get first! maybe by then they will have a few on the shelf ready to go. I'm gonna have to do some photoshopping to get an idea what they might look like on a manche. -

Yes i was suprised to find that there isnt really a straight up HOW TO, so maybe ill have to do the write up :wrench: Once i find my donor that is. Funny thing is my DD 99 xj would be the perfect donor! but I'm not tearing her up till she deserves it, plus the front clip isnt in perfect condition. --Some of the things i forgot to write on the "to do" list front winch bumper (not sure which one yet) XRC10 with synthetic line Rear high clearance bumper Mount a second winch in spare tire area Aftermarket dual sliding glass rear window rhinoline inside of bed (until a new box or tube bed is available.) high steer, big tie rods etc. arb, or similar, diff covers go ballistic fender flares from motion rock sliders MT classic locks (polished) with red beadlock rings general grabbers or maybe GY MTR's (i would like Krawler KX's) and of course, Lots more...
