Inside view of the new sunroof. It's a bit hard to get a good shot, but the sunroof turned out great. It took about 6 hours total time, including replacing the head liner.
-
Top view. Have to admit the front of the truck looks a little bit narrow from this angle. :hmm: Need to paint her so bad, and fix the hail dents. Truck is looking way better now with the new roof though!

Finaly got a new sunroof put it. It is 17"x32". Need to redo the COMANCHE lettering on the windshield but the point is the sunroof is in! Will get more pictures soon. Trying to get a better picture of the inside to show the head liner and what not. More coming soon.

so just to reiterate, Hazards stop flashing with foot in on the brake. No problem, thats just how the MJ is. Well, Thats good to know, I just thought it was a bad ground or something. Gonna have to replace my e-brake cables then! Thank you!
-
Cool, thank you. I need to pull the steering wheel and replace the ignition switch (again) anyway so I think I might just throw in a new turn signal switch while I'm at it.

So for whatever reason my hazard lights stop blinking when I step on the breaks. I need to replace the e-brake cable so I can't use that. So if I pulled over to help someone on the side of the road I can't just stop I would have to shut it off. So I checked all the bulbs and did replace a few of them. What's shorting out or not grounded properly or what's going on? Anyone else have this same problem? Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

ebay transaction has officially closed if your interested in the truck. Send a holler
-
sounds good to me man, keep me up to date if ya would please. That gives me plenty of time to deal with ebay and closing that mess. The only thing I really want is the buckets and center thing. Unless you happen to have a sunroof laying around. My 89 has a real fancy plexiglass roof that I would love to turn back into the working real glass sunroof. Gets pretty hot under that plexiglass!

Well I was right. Have not heard a thing from that guy in Texas. In the process now of contacting eBay to close the ticket in that end. I tried to send you a pm yellaheep with a possible deal, did you get it? Let me know man. Would love to get something worked out. Thanks.

Nope, my bench seat doesn't have the head rest. And I finally sold my other MJ on eBay. I will let you know if the guy ends up not picking it up or something he lives 355 miles away and I don't think he might realise that and change his mind. Would love to work something out with you if this falls through. Otherwise maybe ill find a reason to be in Colorado one of these days. :). Oh and its a stick shift btw.

nope neither one of them is a diesel maybe I'm just blind. had a mechanic buddy look at mine and he said it wasn't there either. it doesn't look like anything is been cut off or anything so I don't know.

NOT ready to buy as of this very second but am thinking of swaping the bench for Buckets and running the full center console. Would like to at least get an idea of what its going to cost me, anybody near Kansas and how hard its gonna be to find etc etc. Thanks all!

Try as I might, I don't see a cat anywhere on either of my MJ's

Looking to either buy an original Owners manual or if anyone knows where I could download one, or Something. I just think its kinda cool to read all about what was in it originally and see what AMC/Chrysler recommended 23 years ago. Any info on how or where to score one would be awesome! Thanks!

Ok so I'm about to make a fool of myself. I should be able to see the thing somewhere before the muffler on the exhaust right. I'm gonna have to investigate now.
-
Well its not back firing or buring rich or lean or anything. I disconnected the thing and it shut off. :( I didn't think the Comanche had a cadilidic converter? (sorry if thats spelled wrong, I'm tired) At least not in 89? I could be wrong but I don't remember seeing one under there. I remember thinking it was odd it didn't have one............ oooooooorrrrrrrrrrrr both trucks ive had, someone has yanked them off?
-
So being that I drive less than 5k miles in a years time and have no idea if the o2 sensor has ever been changed ever should I change it now? Will I notice problems if the sensor is bad? I found a new timer from the local dealer but I don't know if my from the factory goal is worth 60 bucks when it would take me 30 seconds to disconnect the thing.
-
If memory serves, the emission maintenance light comes on due to the timer box thing under the steering wheel. At least that's how it is on the Cherokee. Am I right to assume its just that and nothing major. It's just telling me its time to check the o2 sensors. Don't we only have one o2 on the down side? Hope I'm right but lay it on me if not. And am I right that ill be hard pressed to find someone that van reset the code. Or..... We have the renix system that can't be reset and I need to junk that box. I really don't want to do that. Not because its hard (its really easy) bit because I'm a perfectionist and don't want parts missing, even useless parts. Any suggestions?

Shifting Problems, Help!
starkizer replied to starkizer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just wanted to update. I took her in to the local Chrysler dealership after still having problems. They changed out the slave and master (again) and changed a few lines. so far everyting is working just fine. Now I just need to change all the fluids down there. (Both Diffs, transfer and tranny etc.) -
I like the iron cross. I did my last Comanche in iron crosses before I finally had to make her a parts truck. And I'm a little jealous of the bucket seats. That's one thing I'm looking forward to doing on mine.

Shifting Problems, Help!
starkizer replied to starkizer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Good advice about the synchros. It is weird that it doesn't act up all the time. There wouldnt be anything non tranny related that would cause my problem. Ie my differential fluid is crap and I've got something leaking from where the drive shaft goes into the diff. Leaking all over the gas tank. Anyway. I'm sure its got something to do with the clutch. Just don't know what. Something must have been done wrong but would anyone take your truck back to the same shop three times. I didn't think so. Clutch plate, pressure plate, pilot, slave, master its all new. I just don't get it. -
Shifting Problems, Help!
starkizer replied to starkizer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
A quick update. The things been shifting like a dream except and night and when my wife is riding which is usually at night. One of the two is my gremlin. So anyhow... buddy of mine said its my synchronizer. I don't know anything about that do a few questions. What is it, do I need to drop the tranny and how do I fix it. Also was wondering if the fluid in the tranny itself would effect anything. -
