  1. Ah great, thanx for the tip!!
  2. The rear 4" spring and the front 4.5" springs did not match up too well. The front was actually too low and looked funny. I threw in 2" spacers and it helped, but still low....I hope the rear will drop down a little bit when I throw in the 8.8. (I am still spring under).

  4. Thanx guys.......I was very very frustrating to replace your exhaust and your injectors start dumping fuel down the motors throat. The crappy thing was, you could not tell it was running rich....no soot or smoke out the exhaust. I am kinda suprised of the new found power......I can crank a patch with 3.55 gears and 35 inch tires. Now I have to move onto swapping in my 8.8. If anyone is intersted.....ruffstuff has great swap brackets, even if your staying spring under.
  5. I case anyone cares.....I figured out the problem. My 18 year old injectors went static and caused all of my issues. I replaced them with Stang 19 pounders and everything is fine....
  6. Did you have a solution to this??
  7. The TJ is good, just finished the full hydro and I am re-doing the rear suspension to tuck the arms up higher. I have a few minor things to do before the Chili Challenge. I am going to sell my 40s and get some comp krawlers......
  8. ok, I replaced the knock sensor b/c I smashed it. I replaced the IAC. I checked for leaks. I replaced the MAP sensor. I welded the EGR tube from exhaust to intake. It seems to idle fine (a little high but fine) and has a ton of power but it still has the wicked hesitation. The funny thing is, if I disconnect the vacume to the MAP sensor the hesitation goes away and idles normal (a little lower) I also adjusted the TPS from memory.........I search for the post on TPS adjustments but I can't find it...anybody got a link. So, with that said.....what does it mean??!!?? Any ideas?
  9. Just like I knew that it would happen, my MJ runs like crap after the new manifold I installed. It ran great prior to the install but was loud due to several cracks. It has a wicked surge to the idle right now, to the point it will stall. I am going to clean and inspect the IAC to see if it is the cause. It also has a wicked bad hesitation as soon as you touch the gas, either just sitting or driving it will almost stall than catch and take off like a screaming monkey. Also, I had to disconnect the vacume line that runs to the diaphram that controls the exhaust gasses back into the intake, it runs like @$$ with it connected but runs good without it.....whats the issue there? I also marked the injectors prior to removal, but with my luck all my numbers rubbed off and can not figure the correct spots for the for the injector harness. It runs totally fine no matter how I run the injector harness....no miss, stalling or anything, full power no matter what I do. Is there a way to figure out the correct locations? Once driving the MJ runs great, much more pwerful than before, it just has the idle problem and the hesitation problem.....anything will help at this point.... Thanx in advance!!
  10. Ruffstuff has a swap kit for this axle change.....just make sure you get the right u-bolts if you are keeping it spring under. This is by far the best swap kit I have found!
  11. I found an 98 F8.8 with rotors/calipers/lines and driveshaft adapter for 60 bux in the junk yard! I am stoked.....
  12. thanx for the props.......I haven't taken the MJ out wheelin yet.....the dana 35 would be screaming if I did. I want to find a cheap 8.8 as a replacement. I want to put some flares on the MJ but I havent found any I like. Any aftermarket ones out there besides Bushwacker? I am not going to put TJ flares on it either. I found some flares @ Rustys and JC Whitney.....any others?
  13. Rustys 4.5 with spring packs, 35inch MTZ, TJ rims with spacers. Stock: after lift and cutting:
  14. I just put on 35s with about 5.5 to 6 inches of lift. I need to open the wheel wells up a bit. Does anyone have suggestions on flares besides bushwacker?? I have a stretched TJ on 40 for my rockcrawlin needs....so its important to me for my MJ to look clean.....My MJ this is more of a daily driver, so I want it to look good.
  15. Pulling the old cluster out I found out how the shifter indicator worked......it worked by a fine piece of wire attached to the needle. well as you can imagine, it broke on the way out. I put the new XJ cluster in...tach and volts works. I hope with new senders, my oil and water will work too.
  16. I understand what you are saying but the shifter indicator is in the huge gas gauge where the tach would normally go. I guess I will see what I am going to do.......a shift on the coulmn might be just a MJ thing......never saw an XJ with an old school shifter
  17. I have my shifter "in the tree," not a floor mounted auto shifter. My gear indicator is in the cluster......I just got a cluster from the junk yard and I just noticed it does not have a shift indicator. Any suggestions? I am not going to move my shifter to the floors either!! thanks in advance! timmyk
