  2. Nice i thaught i was the only 1 around haha. I acualy live 1/2 mile off rt6. I still drive my red Pioneer every day, since the engine exploded in my 03 Silverado HD. Its stands out with the smashed in pass door an 5in stack haha
  3. Na my buddy has a swing around arm with the chain fall on it, on the corner of his garage. It was mainly bulit for removing sanders from his plow truck. The pioneer is just donating its entire drive train an lift. lol I'm proly gona hold on to it for parts or maby start parting it out or sell it whole. don't wana scrap it when done since its pretty clean rust wise. My new Sportruck ive had an eye on for the past 2 years... An i found out he wasent fixing it an was just gona scrap it. So i jumped on it and towed it home for scrap vaule!
  4. I just started getting my Sportruck going. today i got the entire noes off, an got the engine an tranny pulled. Pulled up the carpit inside an found the driverside floor has some serface rust, but no rot at all! I pulled off the plates for the 5speed shifter an 4x4 shifter. Still have to figer out how to swap out the auto peddals an swap in my manual clutch an break peddals. I notist theres no hole in the fire wall for the clutch master...
  5. After a intresting wheeling trip with a 01 Cherokee XJ on 33s locked both ends my lil jeep didnt fair too well haha. I ended up rolling it into a tree smashing the pass side fender, door, and cab cornner... its not too bad but gave me 1 more reason to find a short bed... I ended up scoring a 1988 Comanche sportruck for $150 bucks! :jump: Best of all it was only 5 miles from my house! Its a 4.0L 2wd with a aw4 auto. The engine is locked up an has no breaks. Other than the foul smell inside (dam mice!) its in realy good shape! The body is about 98% rust free.
  6. This all started with the 90 Comanche LWB Pioneer i found to start, late summer. I realy was looking for a short bed auto but couldnt pass on a running an driving Comanche only 30 min from my house. When i baught it, it had 165k miles on it. 4.0L renix, ax15, np231. Dana 30 front with the posi-lock, an factory dany 44 rear. Bucket seats, full center concle an full gauge cluster. And the kid i got it from had a new set of 31in baja claws an a rustys 3in lift. oh an can't forget the 5in stack hooked to a flowmaster haha! Soon after i installed a brand new Rustys 4.5in SOA lift before the lift....just the 3in and after the 4.5in SOA
  7. I have the rustys 4.5 spring over lift on my comanche. I'm very happy how it came out. Mine does sit high in the rear but i also have add a leafs in the rear that i was too lazy to take out.... The only complaint i have is my trac bar is waisted after 3k miles. But I'm gona up grade to the rustys bushing on the top insted of the tiny tie rod end. I only have 31s and open diffs but flexs very good an will keep up with locked cherokees on 33s ( with lil rev limmitor help :brows: )
  8. I hear ya with the rust.. I'm from north east CT. You can't evan find a newer truck with out rust here!
  9. Good luck man. your best best bet is to look in back yards or by word of mouth.. I been looking for one for 3 years an just got a 88 Sportruck 2wd with a bad engine. truck has close to zero rust an scored it for 150 bucks!

  11. The wiring is all the same? I know my 88 jeep has a aw4 currenty, with the power an econn switch on the dash.
  12. Thanx. And ya that is a 1987 Monte SS t top. Its another project of mine at the moment. Just swaped in a 500hp 412ci small block, and bulit th400 auto into it. Its my "Mullet Wagon" haha
  13. Oh couldnt forget my first comanche x long bed! 86 cursed with a 2.8 v6 an auto. Was baught by me an a freind 3 years ago for $500, just to take wheeling. Lasted us 2 months untill the 2.8 chucked a rod. It was all stock with custom CT rot holes for less weight! haha
  14. I'm soon going to be swapping my 88 2wd to 4x4. Its currently a renix 4.0 an 2wd AW4. I plan on using my 90 renix 4.0 compleat drive train. But my donor is a 90 with a ax15 tranny. I would like to keep my swaped truck a auto aw4. What year trannys will work with my current 1988 wiring? I do know the renix has a bell housing CPS. Is it as easy as swaping on the renix 87-90 bell housing on any AW4?
  15. Hello I'm Scott from north east CT. This is my current daily driver/ wheeler.. 1990 Comanche pioneer. Parked next to my 2500HD (thats now has a exploeded 6.0L v8). had a verry clean body untill smashed the pass side cab corner, door an fender. Rolled it rock climbing holding the revlimmitor bouncing off rocks an trees. (kid in front of me had bigger tires an 2 lockers). Its A reniox 4.0 with a factory ax15, np231 an dana 44 rear. Rustys 4.5in lift with extra leafes in the rear. Has 31in baja claws on stock rims. Ya an its got a 5in stack lmao This is cupple days befor smashing the pass side This is my new 88 Sportruck doner. only 2wd 4.0 auto with a bad engine. Swaping out drivetrain out of my red jeep into it soon
