  1. Temple Texas area. Close enough to Hidden Falls Adventure park which is about as good as it gets for Texas wheeling.
  2. I’ll buy those fenders if one of you local guys can grab them
  3. https://www.euramtec.com/parts/c/c01/7180.html Saved on my parts list. From my research you can find them selling it on ebay, or call them directly. Supposedly there is a Comanche club discount, not that they’re expensive to begin with.
  4. Oh yeah I forgot I had seen that too. That was my second choice and more likely I think. I mixed up the loose plugs in-between the airbox and brake booster with the one in the pic.
  5. After splicing all the (3-4) broken/chewed wires back together, I’m left with one that I can’t tell yet where it goes. It’s poorly attached to a Gray wire coming out from behind the driver side headlight then a good chunk of exposed wire. My brief glance at the wiring schematics has me hoping it’s for a window washer reservoir/pump that is also non existent, which would easily explain why I can’t figure out where it plugs into. Otherwise happy with where I got it to today, will just keep slowly plugging away at it.
  6. Took the advice I found here and ripped the carpet out asap. Considering the state of the engine and floorpans, it’s officially a flinstone mobile.
  7. Electrical gremlins.
  8. Took the rack off. Cleaned up everything. Spliced some wires back together, which fixed nothing as far as I can tell. Vacuum leaks. Vacuum leaks everywhere. Also floor pans are more of a priority than I originally thought.
  9. Bought a 1988 Comanche Sunday. Sat in a field for 20 years. It’s all there. Rust only in one area so far, driver floor pan. 4.0 ba15 short bed 58,112.5 miles on the clock Motor turned over with jumpers on the leads, and the right headlight turns on! Safe to say some electrical or likely grounding issues in general though. I’ll slowly plug away at it, get it running and driving first, then some “tasteful” mods as I make it look “new” again.
  10. It’s my 5th jeep, 3tjs and a jk previously. All long sold and gone. Body/interior will get a full restoration. Only thing on the drivetrain I envision keeping will be the motor. End goal of 37s if I’m being realistic, 40s if I’m being stupid. I will not be cutting into the body or at least not visibly. Paint will be Q7 Gunmetal Pearl. Just need it to be a decent little driver and capable of driving to and from trails. Nothing extreme though or at least when it comes to body damage.
  11. Plucked out of a field in central Texas, now sitting in the yard. 1988 Jeep Comanche Engine / Trans / Transfercase / Front axle / Rear axle / Wheelbase 4.0 BA15 2WD Dana 35 Build date: Will get later Current Location: Central Texas Status: Project awaiting work Notes: Bucket seats and a bed / roof rack Current owner: ME!
