Ok guys ive finally got it all switched over where can I find a free engine wiring harness for my 86 jeep Comanche 2.5 tbi and find a free engine wiring diagram for the 95 jeep wrangler 2.5 mpfi its not been a bad swap just time consuming switching a couple mounts the hard and fun part is fixing hit me now with the wiring ive done alit of reading and about it I just trying to find some free diegrams any help will be appreciated i will post pics after I do the wiring

If you still need it give me a holler i swapped my 86 tbi to a 95 jeep wrangler 2.5 mpfi tuff challenge but I succeed and I actually have 2
-
I have a 86 jeep Comanche 2.5 tbi truck 4x4 4 speed manual
-
Was the swap hard ive got a complete motor and outside harness and ecu i been wanting to make the change for the whole system hut seen how much trouble it is how much trouble was it to switch the fuel system over
-
Ok thank you and where can I find the right fuel pump for my truck everyone says no more than 15 psi but when you order the pump it shows 90 psi and on some they just offer a inline pump 4 to 6 psi got me all confused
-
Yeah I believe i will keep the oh 2.5 and just swap out the harness thats alot easier lol and also another quick question the metal vacuum lines that run into the throttle body can those be taken out and replaced with standard size vacuum hoses i mean the proper sizes or do they have to be metal
-
But if I go to the 4.0 what all would I have to swap over i know the motor and tranny and transfer case as well i believe and possibly the rear end whats your thoughts see if have found all kinds of 4.0 I can't find the right 2.5
-
Yes they said all I would have to do was change the outside harness fuel pump and motor brackets and sensors
-
I found a motor for my jeep Comanche 86 tbi 2.5 but the motor i found is in a 95 jeep wrangler 2.5 fuel rail injector and when I try and research it and it says it possible ive got to change the ecu is this correct everything else looks about right and change the harness under the hood

Its confusing lol I'm going to take pictures I for the love of figure the timing out ive got it dead on the camshaft and crankshaft markdown the compression stroke both valves closed and the distributor dead on at 4 and it still shows I'm out 10 degrees and it won't pull and then sometimes it will ideal just fine and when its dealing good it shows in time then it switches and starts missing and it shows out 10 degrees i don't understand this I'm a halfway decent mechanic and this thing is driving me crazy
-
Cause the gentleman i got the truck apparently took a 95 jeep wrangler 2.5 tbi and stuck it in the 86 jeep Comanche and swap a few parts but done wrong so idk i guess ill try the 95 disturber and see
-
Cause ive had nothing but trouble from this thing since ive gotten the one gentleman on here looked up the engine serial number and it came from a 95 jeep wrangler and the reason I done that was cause I couldn't get the timing to line up explains everything now though if noticed the wiring looked like it had been changed cause there's extra plugs here and there I'm going to look and see if there is a plug around the disturber cap
-
Ok ive got a miss and ive been reading that the engine is a 95 jeep wrangler 2.5 tbi the thing is i can not get rid of the miss no matter what i do or replace everything i have read say the 95 distributor is different than the 86 the 95 has a cam sensor and wouldn't be firing exactly right is this true and also its show they should have used the tbi from the the 95 instead of using the tbi from 86
-
Also after reading on the internal differences the camshaft it tells you got to switch camshaft or switch dowel hole but I'm picking up tools them going to see how she does under a load update soon
-
Well I switched the cam sprocket dowel holes and put her back together in time and she started right up purring like a baby
-
Well have i said something to definf anyone
-
I got ahold of the guy i bought it froms daughter she said she isn't forsure but he took the motor out of a jeep wrangler amd put in the Comanche ive got the engine number well both numbers on the engine i will add a pic of it but when I use the other dowel it makes complete turns and stays in time but soon as I put it back in the original dowel hole ut doesn't line back up I should have taken Pic of that I'm taking the cam to a machine shop that does head amd cam work the going to fix the other dowel hole so it will line up fully and I have pictures of the cam ive got it out now
-
When I align the camshaft sprocket with the other hole on the camshaft everything is in perfect timing but the hole doesn't align enough to get a dowel pin in idk what to do I'm stuck
-
I believe I found the problem the guy before rebuilt the engine and after digging in deep in can not get the timing to line up the cam is always out I for thanking he used wrong dowel hole which when you switch it timing lines up perfectly but different size dowel holes I believe he got a camshaft for a carburetor motor or something I'm try to find a camshaft ive been trying to decode the motor number cause he switched motors from something else
-
I just don't understand the guy i bought from redone the engine I'm thinking hes got something out of time or something i even put a new distributor shaft and everything everyone was telling it was my shaft we its not the shaft
-
Yes it does
-
Yes it runs just ideals rough and will reb up but soon as you go to pull out and put it under a load you loose it
