Jeeper (1/11)

  1. Project complete. Removed drop in liner. Had spray-in liner applied. Installed after market sport bar.
  2. Ok, I will look for the correct vacuum port on the intake manifold next and report back. Thanks.
  3. Ilhat, yes there are troubleshooting instructions on those pages and no, I haven't followed them yet. I want to know if the system has enough vacuum first. 89MJ, not sure where to test for enough vacuum. I placed my digital manometer on the vacuum motor in front of the airbox and got 0.0. I know there is vacuum because I have no idle issues, the hvac works, and it shifts in and out of 4WD. The truck doesn't have cruise control.
  4. Pete, any idea what its origin is?
  5. One more thing...I pressure tested the system yesterday and the pressure drops slowly, but no obvious leaks under pressure. It had a 16 radiator cap on new radiator last year, but it would weep, so I replaced it shortly after (May 2024) with a 20 and the weeping stopped. It is not weeping from cap now.
  6. I've got a 1990 with the 4.0L and the AW4 with the original closed cooling system. Early last year I replaced radiator because it developed a pin hole and installed a new Mopar thermostat. It's been running great until now. I need to top off the coolant bottle every day. No coolant drips on ground. The oil dip stick only has clean oil on it. I do smell coolant from the engine area when I open hood. Any ideas on what could be going on?
  7. No Cat on my truck. Massachusetts doesn't test for emissions on vehicles older than 15 years.
  8. Pete, where do I get these tiny wedges? I like the torch idea. It shouldn't take much heat to soften the rtv.
  9. Is that diagram from the service manual?
  10. Way too many flaws for $12,500. Also, would it be too much to clean the interior prior to listing?
  11. It's coming out from the cap. So, I'll replace it with a 22psi cap. Yeah, the discharge tube was covered with a plastic/rubber cap and it's held on with a small zip tie-not the greatest option, but it's not leaking from there. Thanks
  12. I'll try a weld. If that doesn't work, then perhaps a parachute handle might be in my future.
  13. Started with the easier test first... I replaced the relay and the fan continued running with no interruption. Who knew that a 34 year old relay could go bad? Thanks to all.
  14. I'll do that tomorrow and report back.
  15. So the fan should run continuously with the ac on? I'll check the charge level with gauges the next warm day.
