  1. Thank you! :) I won't be pushing the eninge too much for now, but will stay at around 270-300hp so that will be 705nm or 520ft/lbs. But compared to the 4.0 I notice a huge difference in acceleration atleast 3.0 liter (2,993 cc - 182.6 cu in) It's the cast iron one, the newer ones have a bigger bellhousing so they are harder to fit to the AW4.
  2. Got to shift with buttons until my sequential shifter arrives 21857A90-D544-44B6-A668-3D82706E268C.mp4
  3. Damn should have gone with a german v8
  4. Was out test driving it today, everything actually seems fine except blowing one intercooler hose. Not finished hooking up the nifty shifter, and my NSS is bad so I only had 2th and 3rd gear. It was only smoking that much because I was not getting boost pressure from standing still there revving BC442C84-09D4-42DE-9DCD-673B8E8D9AA6.mp4 A236C2C0-A298-4ADD-9D51-16CE75500D0D.mp4
  5. Niftyshifter arrived 😍 waiting for some parts for the intercooler piping. Hope I’m done before the weekend.
  6. Finally got the engine started, after chasing a no start problem for 2 days. Turns out I had not pushed the common rail pressure relief valve connector all the way in Found a 2.5 diesel radiator, so now I don't need to route the cooling hoses in a stupid way. Its damn hard getting the 2.5 inch intercooler pipes to fit between the lights and the body 150C33E3-EC8C-4ED6-95E9-5BA721AFFA94.mp4
  7. Mounted a much smaller alternator, I really hope it gives enough power for everything. Otherwise I will have to redo that in the future. Pumped out the fuel from the fueltank, mounted a diesel filter and help pump as it needs 3 fuel pumps for some reason . Started with the wire harness.
  8. It turns out there was a lot more involved than I initially thought. I need to create an alternator relocation bracket. The BMW alternator is too big and interferes with the steering box, so I'll check if the old 4.0 generator can fit. I've completed one engine mount, but I ran out of gas and couldn't continue. The engine is mounted to the AW4 transmission, and the flexplate is bolted to the torque converter. I also purchased the "nifty shifter" from Nick. For now, I'll have to manually shift the transmission until I get around to making a mount to fit the 4.0 TPS sensor with the electric gas pedal.
  9. The engine was bigger then I thought :o The adapter for the engine to the AW4 was delayed, so now I am just waiting. Hopefully it comes next week.
  10. Got to try the rear suspension last saturday, and it works amazing. and the day after that the engine is on it's way out
  11. Those Patrol guys are amazing, I am going away for an event on saturday, then I got 3 weeks to do the swap before the next one starts
  12. Haha, we shall see how this works out From what I understand it produces 150 kW (201 hp) 410 N⋅m (302 lb⋅ft) stock. BMW diesels are new to me. The that does tuning for me tells me I can go 260hp 600nm with it stock.
  13. Change of plans! an hour after I posted here I found an M57 that I could not pass on. Yesterday was an 11 hour trip to go and pick it up So I guess I will be using the engine I wanted in the first place :)
  14. I have found out that I hate making cages, so the I will stop here and not cover the front.
  15. Not only are they more fragile but the price is like $8-9k in Sweden, versus the $500 for the m52b28. I will be putting a stock m52 in the 2002 if I can not find a m54b30. Interesting, if it is the same pattern it would save me some time. Awesome on the e36! they are amazing cars. My father owned a blue e36 m3.
  16. S52 or S54 would be amazing, but I would be too scared to go into deep water with that such an engine. I have not started the swap yet, need to find a stock engine to put in the bmw, if I do not do that while pulling the engine out of it, I will be to lazy to put one in it again. I was going to use the m57 to AW4 adapter kit. But have not looked into if the bolt pattern is the same. Otherwise I make my own adapter. 410 on the wheels in the bmw, only at 0.7bar because the car is already undrivable . Guessing the comanche drivetrain makes that number lower.
  17. Trying to tac the rest of the cage in place to see if it will look alright, the original roll bar will be removed once I am done with the cage. The swedish forrests are very very tight for a comanche
  18. A guy in Poland sold the bumper to me, will be drawing my own now that I have found an awesome laser cutting shop that cuts everything for me.
  19. I've been toying with the idea of dropping a BMW M57 diesel into my Comanche for a while. But after crunching some numbers, I decided it's smarter to use what I've got. So, I'm pulling the turbo M52B28 out of my BMW 2002 and putting it in the Comanche instead. The 2002 will get a replacement M52B28, but without the turbo this time. It seems like a good way to save some cash and still get the fun of working on a project. Was really pumped about the diesel, but the M52B28 is already mine, and it's built and ready to go. Plus, it's going to be pretty cool to see how it performs in the Comanche.
  20. Started work on the rollcage, and made it longarms/coils rear.
  21. Added C gussets, 10mm plates to the LCA mount and simple straps to see if it works better not letting it flex out too much. No more work will be put into the Dana 30 now 🙈
  22. Haha yeah, it bent every time I turned the wheels trying to make it out of that trail.
