If you don't mine me asking, how do you look them up? I've always wondered that.

They did a decent enough job painting the truck though. The door jams are painted the same as the exterior. As for life being busy, I completely understand. You do a ton for this forum and I thank you for that. I couldn't begin to imagine the stress of looking every truck up and doing the things you do.

You have no idea how many times a day I'd check in to see if you commented yet haha. I thought it was Red due to the under side of the truck but I wasn't sure. I also appear to be missing the Tach so it makes me wonder if the cluster has been swapped at some point.

1988 jeep comanche 4.0L with the automatic trans. It is a short wheelbase 2wd truck Build date: unknown Current Location: the truck will be living in pflugerville texas Status: she's definitely a project. I picked her up for $900 not running or driving. I plan to lower it a little and then daily drive it. She's comanche #2 for me.
  6. My comanche got sponsored! This is a huge step to having my comanche back on the streets again. Pictures look a little funny due to making them work for Instagram
  7. I forgot to share that I also recently found a ax-15 and np231 out of a cherokee for $500. Supposedly the jeep ran and drove when it was pulled but I got the intermediate plate and mount too. Bye bye ba-10
  8. Today as a " reward " to the truck for starting it got a new bumper. It's not the best but for $50 I couldn't complain
  9. Last weekend I was finally able to get the truck started! My issue was that the starter switch was bad and wasn't sending power to the gauges or the computer. It only sent power to the starter. 20220901_191045.mp4 VID_380810905_213316_274.mp4 I also had to replace a few fuses because I suppose in the trucks past life it had a leaking clutch master cylinder which destroyed the fuse box. I was thankfully able to score a whole uncut interior harness for $175 so that will get replaced soon enough. Next up was the fuel system. It had the wrong top hat and so I pulled the tank and apon further inspection I noticed the tank was full of rust so both of those are being replaced too. Thankfully everything will be in by next weekend so I can try to get it to idle.
  10. Dang, that's not to far from me.
  11. Thank you! I'll have to test this when I get back to the truck this weekend
  12. I'm not getting any voltage to the icm. I checked all the wires that go to the icm. What would be the best way to test the fusible links?
  13. I believe they are. The truck will turn over but it just Is getting no power to the ignition coil or the distributor. I'm not sure where I can test if the ecu is getting power because that's my next concern.
  14. Goodish news! I went and got another cps from Napa and after installing it I have .57 v AC. I unfortunately still have no spark. I have no power going to the distributor or coil. What could that be?
  15. Hello, I'm looking for help / advice for my cps issue. I finally got my truck to turn over for the first time and I was getting a no spark condition and after doing some research I landed on cruiser54's tip #7. I tested the original cps in the truck and got .32 v of AC, so according to that tip my cps was probably bad. I went to Napa and got another and drilled it out to help get a stronger signal and now I'm reading only .26 v of AC. So my question is, did I just get a bad cps or could something else be at play here? If I have to get another one where would be the best place to go or should I give Napa another shot?
  16. I found it in San Antonio Texas for $1,500. I've done quite a few jeep builds and I've done quite a few sqare body chevy builds too. I'm not currently selling anything but everything is for sale for the right price.
  17. Wahoo! I finally got the truck to turn over under it's own power. First thing this morning I changed the oil, then spun it over by hand and got the wiring set up to get it to spin over. Now I have a no spark condition, thanks to Cruiser’s Mostly Renix Tips I was able to diagnose it to be a crank positioning sensor. Next step is to replace it and try again. I'm so excited to hear this truck turn over. VID_42051011_112454_698.mp4

Honestly I bought my truck without a title and I just got the paperwork to go get a title in my name. Now looking at the paperwork I got I just noticed it says 88 too. The guy I bought it from said it was an 87 thought but I know that doesn't mean much. I'm glad to just get the record straight lol.

also, some thing i though was interesting was that my instrument cluster doesn't have a tach in it but I know it could've been swapped out.

So my truck is an 88? Huh, I thought it was an 87. Regardless I'm excited for your response and have been waiting all day for it! Thank you!
  21. On an kinda cool note, our trucks share the same first 11 spots of the vin 🤷🏻‍♂️. I noticed it when looking through the vin spreadsheet.
  22. Yes I did! It definitely showed me a good bit of new information to me. I had a plan to pull my carpet but I didn't realize how big of an issue it could be if I didn't. Even though its been a texas truck
  23. This is my first mj or even xj for that matter and I knew the xj's needed frame braces so I figured these needed them too. It's good to know that they don't need the frame stiffeners. I have had friends who've owned xj's but nobody who's owned an mj. My first jeep was my TJ and in some ways these are similar and in alot of ways they're not. Rocker guards / rock sliders are definitely on my list. I was thinking about either jcr or dirt bound for those.
  24. Have you had personal experience with them? I can't find much on people using then and they looked pretty cool. I don't have my heart set on using them so i might not. Thank you. The truck is a little rough on the passenger inner fender and cowl but other then that she's all there.
  25. This is the plan for stage one of the truck. It's SOA in the rear and going to be doing 5.5" springs with acos In the front.
