  1. I’m sure we’ve all seen the soggy diaper ceiling before, my previous owner decide just to put a pin or 50 in it to hold it Anyone have any cool retro fits or repairs/replace they’ve done? or should I just stick with the colorful pins?

No joke eh? Well that gives me hope, ill have to dive in a ton into the gearing cause I just don't know enough about it. Why is the gearing such an upgrade?

Too true, I do have lots I would like to try to do with this beaut, including a 2.5 or 3'' lift. I just run into the dilemma of timing and priority. Seeing my brake fluid being that dark threw some red flags so I figured start with the simpler nessecary repairs then move up to the big boy upgrades. Ill probably do a flush of the lines, then check my options. On a less then 3" lift do you have to extend the brake lines? and if I'm going to do this in the future, ( I read a ton about the rear axle swap and the 8.8 being one of the simpler). Do any of you have this done on yours? worth the battle?

You’ve got a good point, hoping some TLC will help the brake lines last a bit longer, I’ll also do some digging into adjusting that equalizer, see if I can snug it up. are those rubber plugs pretty replaceable?

Eagle Scout. You are the man, thanks for your tips and knowledge I’ll be using them ! I do have a question now! My brake fluid is pretty dark, and my E brakes are not exactly top notch. My rear end looks like it may have a leak, I’ll attach a photo! Do you think it’s worth it do do a disc install on the back? And what kind of headache am I going to give myself?

1990, Comanche sport truck! 2.5 L ax-4 with I believe the Dana 35 Rwd with 86” wheelbase. really new to this forum! But I’ve got tons to do to her! And I will be around here and there in the club. I couldn’t believe the original warranty guide came with it!
  10. Are the pillar lights and Splash guards for sale? I’ve got a 90 that needs some Pillar lights, some TLC, and some nice new splash guards
  11. Suuuuper good tips!! I’m gonna dive into it tonight and figure out what I need to do to re-pipe that fronter hole ill keep the plastic cover (for now) and change the gasket and see where that gets me. I found a few vacuum diagrams on here. Is your Jeep similar? Like I could reference a picture of yours, no worries either way I can read schematics. New to this forum so I really appreciate the tip!
  12. Just picked up a 1990 Comanche for a guy from a guy from a guy none who had interest in taking real care of it. It was clearly having oil leaking issues but as is such as a mis treated 31 yr old truck. But after the test drive I seen a good amount of oil on top of the valve cover (which is new and hard plastic which I find odd) Drove well from St George to SLC and needed over a full qt on the trip. I just barley ordered a new valve cover gasket and my question is would it be worth it to just change the cover to a full aluminum? And 2 is there possibly an issue with the pcv not pulling vacuum? Causing the oil to come out the side of Valve cover
