  1. Is there a way to adapt an AMC 4.0 to a gm style nv3500? I can find an adapter plate to make it bolt up, but I'm not sure how or if you can space the flywheel and clutch and starter to compensate for the extra 1/2 inch. Does anybody know if someone makes an adapter kit for this?
  2. ive seen that i just find it hard to drop 300 to 500 dollars on a set of headers. i was wondering if you know of anywhere that sells compatible ones with a smaller price tag or am i stuck with the novak ones?
  3. novak conversion xj/mj for gen 1 and 11 sbc
  4. Hi, I'm currently in the middle of swapping a chevy 350 into my comanche and one big issue i ran into is exhaust headers don't fit. I bought a set of block huggers thinking they would be tight enough but there not they hit the frame and steering shaft. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experince with this issue and if you have what you found works.
  5. Does anyone know how much or if a stock height mj needs to be lifted to clear a sbc 350. I have found mixed answers. I was looking at the 2.5 inch super lift which is on sale right now.
  6. I'm just wondering what will work. I can't find a clear answer anywhere.
  7. I have a 350 in front of an nv3500. I know there is two different size flywheels. I don't know what will work best.
  8. Does anyone make the sbc motor mounts for the comanche other than novak. Having a pretty tight budget I'm wondering if there is any cheaper options.
  9. What gears would you get in the 8.8 with the nv3500?
  10. Is there any reason a 1999 explorer axle won't work in a comanche?
  11. Does anyone know if the gm power steering lines will screw right into the factory steering box?
  12. I want to be able stick the pedal to the floor with blowing the transmission. Is that transmission in your dads YJ stock internals or is it built.
  13. I'm still a little hesitant that the 3500 will be strong enough.
  14. I don't think the nv3500 will work with a 350 from 1974 unless i'm wrong.
  15. I've got a 350 that makes around 300hp. so i'm thinking nv4500 will be the best rout to take.
  16. will the nv4500 bolt right to a 350 without any issues? And my second question is will the nv4500 fit in a comanche?
  17. A little bit off topic but a lot of people say an nv3500 will not handle a v8. Likewise a lot of people say they will. Does anyone know what 5 speed trans gm put behind the 350?
  18. Will the liberty 8.25 handle a v8 stock or will it need some doctoring?
  19. Are those axles any wider than the stock axle?
  20. I have a set of 30s that I like, bigger ones aren't really in the budget. I looked at the price to build a dana 35 then looked at my wallet and I'm almost sure I heard it start screaming at me. I'm kind of leaning towards getting a set out of a junk yard but don't really know what the best choice is. The back axle doesn't scare me as much, but getting the front to work especially if I have to weld my own brackets on seem quit difficult. Is there any axles that will bolt right in that can already handle the power, or am I Chasing my tail in a circle.
  21. I'm not looking to build a major rock crawler but I'm looking at a severly rust pitted axle and I'm not sure if I want to spend the money on building an axle in that condition. Gearing axles is not an area that I know a terrible lot about. I'm just looking for the cheapest option that will handle the engine and still have the front and rear wheels spin at the same speed when in 4 wheel.
  22. I was thinking of pulling a set out of a wrangler in a scrapyard. I don't know what gears are in them. I'm just looking for the cheapest option that are still strong enough to take 300hp. If you have a better suggestion on which axles to use please share.
  23. Will dana 44s handle 300 hp?
